John,

My yearbook is 1973. Do we know how to say double knit polyester and platforms?

One thing I will say - I never, never, never got into the whole Disco thing. I absolutely hated the clothes, the shoes, and the music. I was a Rock and Roll person during that whole time, and sneered at al the Disco'ers.

Most of the time, I was a t-shirt, jeans, and Chuck Taylors.

Yeah, I was a geek snob of the populars . . .

The hair was a whole other thing. My hair was a bit long, and combed really goofy. I really do not like that HS yearbook photo.

BTW - $17 a day to board our Lexi here.

Also . . . the DIS is acting funny on me when I try to use the + for quoting multiples. It keeps bringing up the first post I quoted from Ian, like it is stuck. If I hit the "quote" button it is OK, but the + button is like a boomerang!

Cheri, now POP up and tell everyone that you ARE a teacher :goodvibes

Well, I've been retired 2 years, but I still remember a few things from the previous 35 years!;)

I'm telling you I'll pay handsomely if you get them to do their homework....

Hmmmmm...supervised study hall in Parrot Cay (or some other quiet spot) on a select few sea days. That's a possibility... anyone interested? What's it worth to ya?pirate:

Now I know why I haven't flown since 911.....this is really starting to sound like a nightmare. I'm not the criminal, don't punish me. Make your rules within reason and I'll follow them but it sounds exactly like what you have said.

I disagree, I fly a good amount and have no problem with the rules if they can keep people safe. You have to look at the benefit rather than the loss of your own inconvinence.

Mickey dice??

We usually have a deck or two of cards (I even have a deck in camera bag) and the dice w/yahtzee score pad as well. I think we have Mille Borne in the bag too.

This time I'm not sure what we'll bring. I might bring Bang! cards and possibly the Pass the Pigs game too. Carcassonne might find it's way into the luggage as well as it should be simple enough to bag it up and go. Hopefully Ticket to Ride the card game will be out by then and we can bring it too.

Mille Borne!! Oh my we have not played that in years! Like maybe 35 or so. We played it alot in the late 60's early 70's. Wonder if we still have that game.

Our favorite travel game is 5000 (played with dice). I think it goes by many other names, but it is fun and great for math skills for the girls. And, yup, I travel with the mickey dice too!:goodvibes

That's really inexpensive!

The boarding place I was using was 40 per day per dog. The dogs' vacations could pay for another week of ours!

well we live in Tennessee and in a smaller town so things are cheaper - my father still cannot believe we purchased a historic house that needed very little done to it (besides painting and normal stuff) with 4300 square feet (including finished basement) and 1.2 acres for only 172,000! Life is cheaper here (he lives in Frederick, MD - outside DC).

The kennel is also at my vet and mostly only used for customers so that may have something to do with it. We used to board at a "big" kennel (that is all they do) and it was $10 a night but I like the vet a lot and feel really good leaving her there.

V...great pics:goodvibes Looks like you had a good time and the weather was great.

Of course, kind of ruined it for me with the Shaun pics, but Jaide was pretty excited. She loves Sean A but I just have no respect left for him. He just isn't playing up to his potential IMHO....but he does look like a good daddy with his kids! Jaide wants me to ask you if you met him and if you got his autograph:confused3 Speaking of football, the Hawks made a horrible deal yesterday and traded Josh Brown, :sad2:

Thanks for sharing!
he is really a great guy in person....he played football in the interactive zone with all the kids forever. we met him and were able to get autographs (at mgm) and at Mk...we were next to him at the aladdin ride and no one really even knew who he was, if he wasn;t with a shirt he probably would not have been noticed, he was just so darn patient with his kids....BUT, I pointed out to John....they are Not waiting like the average Joe....they are being led on the back and getting right on the rides. He was great both days we saw him at MGM.....

V, I hope you don't mind but I've been wanting to play with a new technique in PSE that I learned to do selective colouring.

I saw this pic and just had to give it a try.

Here are the results:

I hope you like it.

I am loving your pics! Hope you are enjoying the new camera!

3 cats = petsitter $27 a day and that's just one visit a day I'm guessing with the dogs they come more times.

I should have said house sitter, we have a college girl that stays at our house. The dogs want to be in and with someone at night. At least that's what they tell me. She seems happy to house sit as she lives with 5 roommates. I think her time at our house is a bit of an escape.

you know...what gets me, and no offense to those on here that may do it...BUT things like ESPN weekend are really supposed to be about the "fans"....every year I see it but this year, there were several families...well, all adults, who all had BAGS of helmets, baseballs, footballs, etc...the gals - who had no clue who many of the guys were - were asking ok you want who on what - the helmet or basball?

To me it really was disgusting, these are people selling the collectibles. and in EVERY case....once they see that, they don't want to be anywhere near you.

Wow! I can't wait to get PSE! Very nice!

Yu-gi-oh is a CCG (Collectible Card Game). That means you buy packs of cards in hopes of getting the right ones to help you make a "deck" so you can play against other people who have made their "deck". It's kinda like playing baseball with baseball cards that people collect.

Each pack usually has a set amount of rares, common, uncommon or other such label on the cards. It usually results in getting lots of "filler" cards and a few really meaningful ones.

You play against the other player much like in the cartoon. You battle each other with your monsters playing different cards with different abilities (monster, magic, and trap cards) in an attempt to reduce their opponents' "life points" to zero and win the match.

In tournament play there are usually cards at stake (each player puts up a card that the winner will get).

Pokemon is another type of CCG as is Magic:The Gathering and there are lots of others out on the market.

I'm sure Wilson knows and does this, but I'm just happy staying in the dark on this game to be honest. It just doesn't sound interesting to me at all. Mean Mom strikes again :scared1: Of course I shell out the money for him to get cards all the time, so I can't be that mean huh?

I didn't even see this question...I've been skimming quickly trying to get caught up.

Do I smell an opportunity to earn some spa money????pirate:
:rotfl:

From my opinion, yes! We talked about having all the kids get together one day and have a mini class - and work on their projects together. It would be great to have an expert faciliate this! I for one would pay for someone to help my sons!

I really like this effect! Very nice!

one thing that saddened us a bit --- Mike Metzger was not there this year. Honestly we never watch the X Games, but we met him and his family at one of the first ESPN weekends.....and last year he was there with a broken back, he is just fantastic with kids....and had his wife and two kids with him the whole time.
