When I was teaching, I had a similar deal with the woman who was our aide--if anything happened to me, she was to clean out my classroom. It arose because one of our colleagues died unexpectedly. She was a real pack rat, even for an elementary school teacher!:scared1: She had collections of egg cartons, spools, all that stuff a real teacher KNOWS she'll use for something someday. We couldn't help but have a laugh over the stuff that was uncovered. But after it was all over I made Carol (the aide) promise me that she'd get rid of the really gross stuff right away. Fortunately for Carol, I retired before I could die, so she was spared! I, on the other hand, had to face the music of my years of "collecting"!:lmao:

See I knew it was Cheri that was the teacher :goodvibes

WE too have a corkscrew, but it is in the outside pocket of our checked luggage with our SkipBo cards....two decks just in case.

We're bring Skip-Bo and Phase 10 cards. It's nice to know we're not the only ones who play cards on cruises :thumbsup2

Evening all,

Just got caught up...whew...

Air Canada really fouled us up last spring. I had an early morning direct flight to Orlando from Ottawa - arriving at 10:30...and a flight back at 8 pm ...ahhhhh

they changed the early morming one to a late afternoon one , and the one back left Orlando at 7:30 am....so I lost almost 19 hours at WDW..

This time I thought i would be smart and booked Westjet, direct flight to Orlando leaving at 11:30 am ...giving us loads of time to wake up at a decent hour and drive to the airport

You guessed it...my direct flight now connects through Toronto ( I hate that airport) and leaves Ottawa at 7 am....

They always ask you to call them when they make a major change like that, and when I did the young lady at the other end.....just could not grasp the fact I did not want to go through Toronto (she's in Calgary).....it turns out Westjet cancelled all their direct flights from Ottawa and routed them all through Toronto....

I just like clearing US customs in Ottawa and knowing that when i get off the plane...I'll be in MCO

Sorry...just had to vent...

Then of course i just found out my flight back is now 1/2 an hour earlier.....which would not have been soooo bad except for the fact i built in an extra hour in Toronto to clear customs before our connecting flight home....

Last time we went to DL we took a direct flight from Vancouver to LAX. We first took a flight from Prince George to Vancouver. The flight from PG to Vancouver was 54 minutes long and it had TV's in the seats. The flight from Van to LAX (almost 3 hours) had no TV's. My girls were wondering what was going on.

Now when we went to book flights WestJet no longer has direct flights from LAX to Vancouver. You have to go through Calgary and adds a few more hours to the flight. So now we are flying via Alaska to MCO and Air Canada on the way home to Vancouver.

People say WestJet has better service but I haven't seen poor service by AC yet, with WestJet seemingly cutting back on direct flights and now as of May 1 Horizon Air will fly direct from PG to Seattle, I see myself using West JEt less and less.

Another child of the '70s!

I think we should all bring our high school year books and have a time warp party.

I can't bring mine, I was co-editor and the staff had fun writing in my copy as I graduated a semester early, spend the second semester working and only came around to do the YB after work each day. So they had fun including all the inside jokes from that year in the YB office/dark room, before I came in the that afternoon to hand them out to the students. Oyva! It does bring back the memories, but 16-18 years olds can have one track minds, lol.

I didn't even see this question...I've been skimming quickly trying to get caught up.

Do I smell an opportunity to earn some spa money????pirate:
:rotfl:

I'm telling you I'll pay handsomely if you get them to do their homework....

I've been wonder who else here has pets and what are you doing with them for the 15+ nights?

.

We already have our puppy scheduled at the vet/kennel - for us it is $12 a day so that times 21 days - $252 - not bad - they love our dog and she loves going there (we travel often). I booked the space back in January because it is over Memorial day weekend and it fills up fast!

We're bring Skip-Bo and Phase 10 cards. It's nice to know we're not the only ones who play cards on cruises :thumbsup2

I bring the normal deck of cards, the phase 10 deck, and dice w/yahtzee score pad.

If my college age pet sitter was available, it would be $150 for the 18 days. BUT she only comes out every other day. I have a cat, who would prefer to be indoors, so she comes up cleans the box, refills food and water and pets her. She lets her outside if she wants. I have a very strange cat. She doesn't want to be loved or looked at, unless you aren't looking at her. Right now she's sitting on my feet. If I tried to pet her, she'd run away...so strange!

Joseph:

What is "playing" Yu-gi-oh? I just figured they messed around with the cards. Do they duel with them like on the tv show. Do you win the cards from other players?? I'm sure Wilson will be happy to hear of your son playing too. Remind me of his name again.

Yu-gi-oh is a CCG (Collectible Card Game). That means you buy packs of cards in hopes of getting the right ones to help you make a "deck" so you can play against other people who have made their "deck". It's kinda like playing baseball with baseball cards that people collect.

Each pack usually has a set amount of rares, common, uncommon or other such label on the cards. It usually results in getting lots of "filler" cards and a few really meaningful ones.

You play against the other player much like in the cartoon. You battle each other with your monsters playing different cards with different abilities (monster, magic, and trap cards) in an attempt to reduce their opponents' "life points" to zero and win the match.

In tournament play there are usually cards at stake (each player puts up a card that the winner will get).

Pokemon is another type of CCG as is Magic:The Gathering and there are lots of others out on the market.

I bring the normal deck of cards, the phase 10 deck, and dice w/yahtzee score pad.

We usually have a deck or two of cards (I even have a deck in camera bag) and the dice w/yahtzee score pad as well. I think we have Mille Borne in the bag too.

This time I'm not sure what we'll bring. I might bring Bang! cards and possibly the Pass the Pigs game too. Carcassonne might find it's way into the luggage as well as it should be simple enough to bag it up and go. Hopefully Ticket to Ride the card game will be out by then and we can bring it too.
