He likes Epcot but if he can only choose one park that wouldn't be it. We go to WDW at least once a year. We don't have kids . We just didn't want to pay for a one day ticket. We are staying at the Dolphin and I think we will go play mini-golf, do to DTD, and go see some of the hotels. We still might do a park it depends, I know someoe who works at MK and Epcot I am hoping they will hang out with us for the day if so we will do what they want.

That sounds like a good plan.

Not sure that I should admit this - but my dh is Auburnguy. He finally posted and that will probably be the last time you hear from him until the cruise!

Hey that's what I thought since he said he just found out about the cruise!

We started the tanning bed this week. I love to lay in the heat!

Whew! Can't do it myself...Thank goodness for the Spray on tan. A few minutes and you get two weeks of tan, and it not only looks good, but you can tan in the sun over it!
In my case, I can say that my philosophy is....
"Tanned fat ALWAYS looks better!!"

So agree!

We spoke to our 4th grade's teacher today and broke the news of the cruise. She was great. We talked about making a powerpoint presentation on the panama canal, and we might tie in information on the Gold Rush, as that is what he is studying. Does anyone have any plans on having their kids do a report? I was thinking that it would be fun for them to do a group project. So any 4th graders that might be interested, let me know! We are telling our kids on Easter. After Easter, for whoever is interested, maybe they can start to do a little research before the cruise? I can take responsiblity of the power point. All the kids could then use the same one. Figure we can try to finish a lot of it before the cruise, and then add pictures from the cruises.

I'm on my 4th day of the juice fast/feast thing. Not sure what to say about it at this point. Lisa

trying to catch up....
I had posted this before but I have a 4th grader too and were doing a presentation but I got very lucky in that about 5 min from there is a Panamal Canal museum and they have a man who is coming to speak to Bethanys class and bring some artifacts and video of a ship( no not the Disney) going through the locks. They have a gift shop and everything. If anyone wants to look or wants me to pick up anything for them I would be happy too.http://www.panamacanalmuseum.org/

I was given a book today, The Panama Canal, by Bob Considine. Written for the school age child. She discovered that our library is limited in information on the panama canal, so she's going to do some research on kid friendly books.

My daughters teacher has given me the ok to use this report/power point as her may book report. So we are a go.

Maybe we should have a "school" day on the canal day? Whaddaya think? We can do the whole report on canal day up on the deck of the ship. Brainstorming with the kids, taking pictures of the locks. Writing up the presentation on paper? Not too long, but with all the kids participating, we should have the infomation for the report quickly. I'll volunteer to read up about the canal and I'm sure there are other adults who are canal buffs who'd help guide the discussion?

Discuss and post feedback.

I love the idea. Count me in!! :cheer2:

LOVE THIS IDEA!!!!! I will help however I can, being that I am one of the newcomers. We have taken a "traveling year" this year for school. So far, we've made it to 12 states, and when we hit California, we are driving home to Georgia. Gonna try to see the sights of Route 66, etc. Anyway...GREAT IDEA!!!

Wow your traveling year sounds so great! I want to take a year to travel but that is a long way off with the kids schooling.

Just popping in quickly to post this email I just received. Too busy today for anything else.

Mr. Halkias:

You had previously contacted us regarding challenges you experienced when trying to reserve shipboard services and shore excursions online, so we wanted to provide you with some additional information regarding the steps we are taking to ensure a better experience for our guests.

First and foremost, we understand that some guests with multiple stateroom parties linked to their individual stateroom reservation experienced situations where they were unable to log into the system.
Our system has always been designed to facilitate one individual stateroom party booking at a time; however this may not have been communicated clearly on the site. Therefore, we have revised our website to include the following information.

Please note: For Guests in travel parties with 1 to 4 staterooms, if another Guest in your stateroom or another stateroom linked to yours is currently in My Cruise Plans, you will be unable to retrieve your reservation below. Guests in travel parties with 5 or more staterooms must retrieve each reservation separately to arrange activities in My Cruise Plans.

We've found that on average, guests traveling in parties of 4 staterooms or less typically will allow one individual within the group to make the majority of the bookings for their entire party. The issue we experienced stems from groups of 5 staterooms or more that are linked together and everyone in the group is attempting to pre-reserve services at the same time for their individual reservation. When this happens it slows the entire website down and, at times, results in long wait times or requires guest to start over.

As a solution for groups of 5 staterooms or more that are linked together, we have modified the system so that each stateroom party can pre-reserve their individual services at a time that is appropriate for them (even at the same time). Guests that have 5 staterooms or more that are linked together and wish to pre-reserve services for multiple staterooms may do so using the "Retrieve Another Reservation" function.

I hope this information proves helpful. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to monitor our guests' booking patterns and make future adjustments as necessary. If you have any further questions, please let us know. We look forward to your upcoming voyage.
Sincerely,

George

I have that same philosophy!:rotfl2:

Great!

Love all the new trip tickers from Mickey path. How come the ship is stuck so far back?

:cool1: Back from the dentist, and "look mom no cavities". :)

Next stop the eye doc.

Looks like the ship will ground in a week or so - it will be on the sandcastle a week before!:lmao:

Ahh so the numbers are days and not months. Well that makes more sense. Maybe you could change the ship to the pirate when you run aground. :thumbsup2
