I have finally decided what I want to do on May 8th. I want to go to Sea World's Aquatica!!! I have to conince DH but it is perfect. I have wanted to go here since they anounced it and it opens March 1st. My mom reminded me of it today and how much I would love it. Now off to convince DH I NEED to go there.;)

Thanks - I was just pulling up my file manager to try and remember where on the website I had put the files. Saved me some time! :goodvibes

Thought I would share a story for those wondering about getting stamps in your passport. (I've never gotten one on a DCL cruise. :sad2: )

Last summer DW and I took a Med Cruise with Princess. We started in Greece, visited Turkey, Israel, Egypt, and ended in Rome. When we boarded the ship, they took and kept our passports. Before arriving in Turkey, they gave them back to us already prestamped for Turkey. When we got back on the ship after Turkey, they again collected our passports. The same was done for Egypt and Rome. But Israel was a bit different.

On the sea day before we arrived in Israel, we had to go to one of the lounges. There, a crew member handed us our passport that had the Israeli immigration paperwork tucked inside. When you go to Israel, they won't normally stamp your passport because a lot of countries won't let you in if you have an Israel stamp in it. (My father has to passports for this reason - he works both in Israel and Saudi Arabia, and has to have a permanent visa for both - so they made arrangements for him to have two different passports).

We then had to meet an Israeli immigration officer (who had boarded back in Athens). He inspected our passports, asked us few questions. He stamped the insert as we talked. Once he was done, we asked if we could have a stamp in the passport too. He looked at us silently for second, his eyes watered, he responded 'Absolutely' and reached for our passports and very deliberately stamped them. He handed them back, thanked *us* and got up and walked us out of the lounge (the only time we saw someone do that - and there were 5-6 immigration officers present in the room dealing with other passengers).

I just watched LOST and did notice who was at the auction. btw, did you happen to notice what they were auctioning off that he bought. Check it out.

Tony, that is the best story I've every heard on the boards! I absolutely love it. You should write that one in a travel article - if it isn't already done for your own site. Kelly

I tan fast but Bill takes a l o n g time!

Let's see, I go straight from pale to sunburned to freckled to skin cancer.
Big hats for me!!!

I'm not a morning person but I will be walking in the morning to fight off the 10 pounds in chocolate and steak I will be eating.

I ate more steak on the last cruise than I eat in a year at home.... and it was good.

Whew! Can't do it myself...Thank goodness for the Spray on tan. A few minutes and you get two weeks of tan, and it not only looks good, but you can tan in the sun over it!
In my case, I can say that my philosophy is....
"Tanned fat ALWAYS looks better!!"

What kind of spray do you recommend. Is there any SPF in it.

Marilyn....V is a chugger. She doesn't sip and she doesn't drink to taste, but she belts it down and guzzles it. I think you guessed correctly.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: like me :rotfl2:

Deb how many duffles did you get? I have 3 but don't know if one is too big. Between the 4 of us I am hoping to take 6 bags total. 5 if I can squeeze things in. Then Bill can take 2 when he leaves in Aca.

What is duffles? Maybe I have a look at ebay to give me any idea

Thank goodness I tan quickly. John and I sit at the pool at the hotel before getting on the ship and then we're not winter white when we get onboard.

That is same as me too, but Ian oh no he is get easy burn!!

I tan fast but Bill takes a l o n g time!

that me i take tan quickly, ian hopeless tan:laughing:

Or a lifeboat?!!!:lmao:

Earplugs are the best invention ever. :worship: There would have been murder in the house over his snoring if I hadn't found I could use them. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Did I tell you how fantastic they are?:rotfl2:

well no problem with me as i dont need it because I am deaf as switch off my hearing aid when I go sleep

I hope we don't get assigned at the terminal. What then? How will we mail ahead of time and get the Shirley baskets delivered and get the info on the mini navigators?

I hope not I think we will have the stateroom nos very soon as we are waiting for our interpreter well, we want to know who are they? :)

Deb,

Alison, my daugher and I will be in the pool on 9th so we will see you there okay as we are having relax and have a cocktail too

My step-dad owns a skin care place here (he is a dermatologist) and my mom manages it. They do spray tans and they are great. The best part is they don't charge me!!! So I will be doing that before the cruise. It is a very strange feeling standing there while someone airbrushes you but it looks great and stays on for awhile too. I can't get in the sun without sunscreen (red hair, freckles, and fair skin).

What a day...just wanted to pop in and say hi though. It was one of those run around like a chicken with your head cut off Fridays!!!!

I needed to get Jaide her new cell phone and while there I asked Verizon some info about service on the cruise and in Mexico Scott and I are going to Mexico next week for 10 days:cool1: :dance3: . I was told that there really is no longer in network cell service in Mexico. Apparantly someone bought all the towers and is trying to charge a fortune for people to use them...:confused3 I was told that by 3 different Verizon CS people. The bottom line is it will be about 3.00 per minute to use my cell there.:scared1: They weren't sure about other companies, but said they are all probably in the same boat. Just wanted to pass that info on in case it can help someone. I am not going to worry about cell phone service on board until we get home from Mexico.

I have conferences at the end of the month so I will get more details about what her project needs to be at that point.

By the way, the $300.00 store has some great paperback books right now if you want to stock up (a few Jodi Piccoults, Sophia Kinseller, and lots of others that looked great but I didn't buy!)

Deborah, it sounds really nice to do the pool on the 9th, but I'm not staying at the Radison. I'm on the oceanfront in Cocoa Beach at the Holiday Inn. We'll see each other for dinner at Fishlips I think.

Deb...glad to see you are feeling better and posting again!

Hi how is everyone?
The doctor's have determined that Frank's heart is not strong enough right now for Gall Bladder surgery. They are going to keep him on pain killers for 3-4weeks and then do the surgery.
At least that is the plan today.....tomorrow that might change again.

My hairdresser, who also does my spray tans, says that a tan takes 10# off instantly!:thumbsup2 :lmao: I usually do 1 or 2 visits to a tanning bed but then the day or so before I go, I get a spray tan. I love it!!! In fact I'm getting one Monday night before Mexico on Wed.

Wow your traveling year sounds so great! I want to take a year to travel but that is a long way off with the kids schooling.

My goal is to home school the girls in 2011, buy an RV and travel across the country as our curriculum. We'll see if I can really pull it off but right now that is my plan. One thing Scott and I want to do is hit all those "treasure hunter" places that they show on TLC...you know the place in Montana you can dig for sapphires and Nevada you dig for? etc. I think that looks like so much fun.

Thanks Kaylee, it's feels great not to be in chronic pain. I hate when I have flare ups.....they last long and you just can't get comfortable, it just hurts all over. I'm glad it's gone now. I have been reading and managed to catch up everytime I was behind. So I kept up with everyone.

Tink Rules - I think you sent me a PM about e-mail addresses and I was using my Bberry and I think I deleted it.

Can you please send it to me again?
Thanks
Lisa

Sorry about Frank. Maybe the pain pills will help until he's stong enough for the surgery.
