I'm not really sure what I want because I have never been but I am wondering why most people have late dining? I feel like I'm missing out on something.:confused3

Early seating fills up faster than late. A lot of people don't like eating early and there are fewer kids at late dining. Also you are not as rushed to get to dinner.

Late dining for us, wasn't really a choice. It was all that was left. If you have shore excursions, having late dining usually gives you more time to get back to the ship and get ready for dinner. But, it also means, you usually finish dinner around 9:30 at night. If there are evening activities, like Pirate night, you are rushing to finish dinner to get to the party.

I was worried when I saw that the parties were all on port days. We will have to rush back to the ship.

Yep, Ken and Shari are getting a smart. We picked ours up in January. Here are some pictures Adrienne took when we got it.

I have been working with smart USA for the past two years, as part of the launch team. It's been a facinating experience, but after the past two years, I need this vacation!

Do you have a reservation for a car yet? We've been taking reservations for almost a year now, and the wait can be pretty significant. If you don't have a reservation and want one now, your best hope is to see if your closest dealer has any fall-outs or orphans (they come from reservation holders who ordered, but didn't take delivery of the car).

Thanks for the tip Tony. We don't have reservations. We saw, online, that we could make a reservation, but wanted to see one first. Then we checked out the website and fell for the red one. "We wants the redhead"! There is a new dealer nearby, so we'll go and check it out this weekend, I HOPE ! Are you still takiing reservations? AND how long is the wait, usually? We aren't really in a big hurry. We wanted one to use as a TOAD for the RV, besides the fact that we like them. Can you get Mouse Ears for them?:lmao:

So the parties are after dinner? I thought they were during dinner.

The shows are at 6;30. If you have 8 pm dinner then you will have 30 min between.

I had not thought about all that. No way 30 minutes is enough time to get ready! On top of that it means if I want an updo for formal night I have to get it done before the show as well!

What time are pictures taken?

I have to squeeze in getting ready having pictures, a show and getting to dinner by 8pm and an updo on a couple nights! Ummm so what should my schedule be then?

I had been thinking about a Smart until all of our snow this winter. I somehow feel it might not be the best choice for a midwestern winter, especially seeing so many cars that were larger getting stuck in the snow.

You may be surprised. Small cars do very well in the snow. The old VW bugs were incredible in the the snow, according to friends who had them. I had a Suzuki Samurai the outran any big SUV in the snow. On Black Ice the Samurai was amazing. I could actually use the brakes, gingerly. Never had a chain or snow tire on it either. AND the Smart would be a lot easier to move out of a snowbank. LOL.

15 more pages Marr.....are you ready to start another one? I'm soooooooo glad you volunteer to do this because I don't have a clue and don't want to learn.......I just want you to be available to take care of it. Thanks!

OK only 10 more pages to go we are at 240 and here is a link to the new thread.

LINK TO PART SEVEN!!!!

We have not been as chatty recently but we are still a big group of talkers! Part seven already people! I see every new thread as us being one thread closer to the cruise.

No afternoon shows in October, I was really hoping there would be.

Pj

If they had some afternoon shows on sea days that would help a lot. The formal night and semi formal night are all sea days so we could have more time at night to get all ready and get pictures too.

PJ could you also add to the website and the calendar the mom's memorial prayer that Venetia and me are going to do on Mother's Day, so that anyone who wants to attend can do so. Something like:

Mom's memorial prayer on Mother's Day......Sunday May 11 at 8:30am on the secret deck on 7 aft. Anyone who wants to join in is welcome to help Venetia and Deb remember their mom's and everyone's mom's on this special day.

Thanks PJ.

Marr, could you put it on page one. Thanks.

Added to post one for you :thumbsup2

Most of the deck parties start at 9:45pm.

Fireworks for pirate night-be upstairs by 10:25 p.m. They go off somewhere around 10:28 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. They last 3 minutes and 21 seconds (sorry, I've videotaped so many times, I know the exact length!)

LOL I will be too busy trying not to cry to keep track of the time. :rotfl2:

Kelly and I keep telling you that you can cruise with us, there's a cat 4 that keeps coming up, and you don't even have to do the lanyards!

Of course, I have been emailing him with many questions along the way.

PJ, do what I do--long black skirt or long black crepe pants, rayon or silk top, scarves, dangle earrings. I like it simple!

Me Too! We want to bring the least amount of clothes and bags. Also, we have to fit a Cinderella dress in!:rotfl:

You'll be seeing my dressy outfits more than once, I guarantee!:thumbsup2

Me Too! on the 25 night we wore many outfits over and over and nobody even noticed how often we saw outfits.

I will be wearing my dinner clothes more than once.

Me too! And a black blouse will double for pirate night.

Here's a cool picture to show you just how trickey it really is to get that ship docked at Castaway Cay.

Gotta get it right in that dark blue spot!

.

That is very cool!

Oh, forgot to mention yesterday. I got my official rejection letter from that law firm where I applied last month. Oh well.....plenty more opportunities will come along. :thumbsup2 Besides, as stressed out as I've been, I can't imagine the added stress of learning a new job.

Sorry -

On a serious note. I'm interested in knowing how many of you managed to swing the time before and after the cruise?

So, how did you guys manage the time off?.

We book our schedule 1.5 years in advance, so we just block the time off and lose the money of not working. A last min. booking wouldn't work for us. We keep in touch with our business via email and have the cat sitter check the messages and email us.

The lady said she packs her undies in zip locks so they can be seen and handled without her feeling she need to wash them all. I "saw" her idea and "raised" her one--I pack my undies in zip locks and put them in my carry-on. I have had my carry on opened and sorted through, but at least I am standing right there!

I pack in see through fold up compartments.

Steph, Are you going to Disneyland both Saturday and Sunday? I might be able to meet Sunday around noon.Woody

I've got a sick kid, so I probably can't sneak away, unless DH has no plans then maybe I can sneak out. Anyone going to DL this weekend, Pm you cell and I'll try to sneak out for a couple of hours.
