No it was the same normal configuration. I asked my husband and he hasn't been in a plane yet with that.

What was your experience with the seats if you sat in one? My husband is very tall and I know those will be a priority for him if he can make it work.

Yes, we did. It was nice to have the extra space. :) .

I had read that they were sending out emails to folks in advance if they were expected to be on one of the upgraded aircraft so you could upgrade to business select (or I guess they call it choice extra now) for the flight. But, we didn't get any advance notification on either flight.

Oh that's interesting about advanced notice. That's good to hear the extra space was good 😊

This was on The Points Guy web site:
"We've already started to monetize those retrofitted aircraft by notifying customers who will be on a flight with extra legroom seats, and inviting them to take advantage of our existing Upgraded Boarding product," Watterson told analysts on Thursday, speaking on the company's second-quarter earnings call."

Not that it’s expensive, but I like that. I never pay for it on a flight, but I’ll surely use it for free. I’d personally rather free WiFi and choose my seat than free bag and open seating.
And to each their own. I’d prefer free bags (I get one anyway) so maybe there’s a little more room in the overheads and open seating. My flights are typically less than 3 hours and I can live without my phone/laptop/tablet for that long and I like to scope out the surrounding passengers before choosing my seat.

It’s a nice perk but it was only around $8-10 while others got it for free based on ticket type or status.

Bags on the other hand are now $35 for the first one unless you have status, booking the expensive fare or a credit card holder.

With the sponsorship from T-Mobile they will probably make more than when they were selling it.
