Deb, you know that we are all SO proud of you for not going back to the awful habit when you got discouraged about the lack of weight loss. Just keep it up, you will soon (well maybe not real soon, but within a few more months) be able to stop the munching to replace the cigarettes. Cheerios are a great replacement and much easier to give up when the time comes! ;)

Thanks Angie....it's easier to go forward than it is to go backwards and have to start over again. Let's conquer one thing at a time. Cigarettes first, weight next. Yes, I do agree it's better to eat cherrios than to smoke a cigarette. Eventually, I won't be eating the cheerios anymore and I'll work on the weight then. In the meantime I'm still eating diet food so the overeating is at least less calories than eating cookies or something else.....cheerios are better than pop tarts.

We watched THE NOTEBOOK last night. What a wonderful story! We laughed and cried.

Deb-I meant to post this last night. I'm sorry that you won't be able to wear the dresses you ordered but you have the right attitude about saving them for another time. You'll wear them, worry not! I know it's hard but you're improving your health, even though it feels so hard right now. Hang in there, it will get better!!! You have a huge support group right here on the DIS! :flower3:

Hi Venetia, thanks for the compliment on the shirt...it will look nice with my pink one.

Normally we have the truck to dig us out, even though 4 inches is not a lot, but when it's up the side of a small mountain it is and we're at the bottom of the mountain.....my neighbor Mike is at the top and we're next door on the bottom 3 acres.....and my driveway is all uphill or downhill depending on which direction you're traveling.....with lots of trees on both sides. John has been going to work but parking the car on the bottom and walking up. That's hard on dry land, forget about it in snow.

We have to get our truck fixed and then I need to order new glasses. I still have not found mine. I give up. I know they're in the house but I have no idea where. It was dark in here when they disappeared.

How are you and Bubba? Any trips to DL lately?

No haven't been since my BDay last month, but I expect a DL visit soon for Bubbas bday which is the 27. So most likely next weekend.

We are both doing well. I 'm with you on the weight loss. I seem to be at a plateau. Even with walking everyday at lunch I am still the same. I even had to call bubba from my ww meeting on the 8th in tears because I need a pep talk. I had worked so hard that week and my weight in was exactly the same. Down to the 10th's. But he did what he does best and that's helping me look at the big picture. I think I'm putting to much pressure on myself to get into the outfits that I purchased.
Ok enough rambling. Thanks for listening.:flower3:

Lisa, I love this idea. Kind of like a high school year book. I'm doing the travel journal this trip. I didn't last cruise and I still kick myself for not doing one. We still need to decorate our FE. I have started packing the stuff I will ship ahead. Oh, I have to call the Hyatt MCO and find out if I can ship a box to them too.

For those who are doing the scrapbooking class with SEAULATER, you could get those autographs on the pages of the book, take photos with those friends, make a little note on each page of which photo you want to put in there and when the photos are printed, glue then over the note. Make your own CRUISEBOOK.

On our Sept cruise we got addresses and e-mails of our tablemates!

It's wise to be careful about posting on public boards.

Yep, outside of you guys nobody else needs to know where I am or when my house is empty. I never realized how involved I'd get with these groups when I chose my name. That's why I never post pictures either. I can't let my daughter be seen with so many googlers. We have a lot of groupies - good ones, but you never know.
It's wise to be cautious.

We knew someone who was part of a Disney collectors group. He publicly mentioned his vacation plans. While he was away, his house was burglarized and most of his collection was stolen.

I wasn't planning on dressing for mexican night either but then I found this on ebay and I figured why not, it looks cute and seems mexican themed to me. I made an offer of $6.50...I'm not usually a fan of wearing pre-worn clothes, but for one night, and the price is right, why not! I may have to have it altered, but that's OK. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...d=m37&satitle=150177645218++&category0=&fvi=1

We're also wearing matching Disney outfits (DH said only once also:laughing: ) but I think we'll wear ours for boarding.

Lisa, I think it's perfect. Mexican, lime green and Mickey.:woohoo: What a great find.

Mine is off with the FAA doing his 6 month you bet your job test! Hoping to hear about noon how it went... always stressfull around when he has to do this.:scared: :rolleyes1

HE'S A PILOT TOO!! WOW.

I am so impressed with pilots. We put our lives in their hands.

(Of course, they put their own lives in their hands so that is the reassuring part. They are not on the ground hot dogging it, they are up there, with me, taking care of themselves as well as all of us. OK, I'm Good.)

Do let us know how is exam goes. I bet he does a super job! Who does he fly for?

Jan :earsgirl:

Jan, go to ABC.com and you can watch it there. Last night's episode will be on the site today. Have some kleenex ready. The house, as usual, was beautiful, and as I suspected he would, Ty built Patrick Henry his own apartment attached to the main house.

Carol

OK!! I will check that out!

I went to Patrick's website and discovered he is supposed to be in Indy next month. I wrote to him and learned that he will be at a church. Not sure what we will do, have not talked to DH about it as it conflicts with our church.

But, he answered me back himself. He must have a voice on his computer to read him the e-mails or something. What a wonderful young man. What a great family to help him reach his goals. HECK--to help him realize that he could even HAVE goals!

Jan :earsgirl:

It'll come. You aren't gaining, so that is super. My dad chewed gum constantly when he quit smoking. That was long before the days of nicotine gum, so he just had to settle for regular gum. And he was always sucking on hard candy. Anything to keep his mouth occupied with something other than his pipe. It is hard, but keep it up. We're all so proud of you.

Thanks Lori....such nice words of encouragement. I do chew sugarless gum, but my jaw hurts after a while and I can't chew anymore. When I chew cheerios, I can take breaks in between bites.

Shucks....you guys are just too good to me. I know I would have cheated already if it wasn't for my huge DIS support group right here. You all are the reason why I'm successful this time as compared to other times. You make all the difference. Thank you all so much.

. Oh, I have to call the Hyatt MCO and find out if I can ship a box to them too.

Let us know what they say...as we will be wanting to have wine shipped there also!

Ok, the truck is still there and my sister is here in Sarasota and taking me back to Polk county this afternoon. You almost need a passport to go back there! Wish me luck that I get a great car and a great deal!

Fingers crosses, V! :thumbsup2

YEAH>>>>>>>TIME FOR LUNCH! Got all my work done this morning, so my team-mate and are a taking a long lunch at Appleby's, then I'll work on my cruise folder this afternoon. Hope they send us home a little early.....

....later kids.....

OH SISTER Can I Relate.....Even though I'm overeating I'm still eating diet food and I worked my butt off starting up my exercises in my dance room.....nothing lost......gaining. How horrible to work so hard and nothing happens or worse, gaining happens. It is so frustrating and so discouraging. But I like Bubba's response. Look at the whole picture, not just the dress that you want to get into too soon.

You have to remember that you are fabulous for what you have already accomplished. If you never go any further, you have already done great. Dwell on the positive not the negative.

Happy Birthday to Bubba soon.....DL here you come! Awesome!

Jan :earsgirl:

He flies for Skywest Airlines which is the connection carrier for Delta and United Airlines. Its 1130am and no word yet. Mama's stomach getting nervous... The sim should be done soon then 2 hour debrief.... OK i guess I will take him to Costco either way, His favorite place for a hotdog..

Costco hotdogs!! Oh yum!! With kraut and mustard! I do miss the old days when you stood outside around a table to eat them though. Before they added all the other food you can get there.

I think somone answered but they don't seem to have a limit...they have plenty of extra tags for your luggage when you arrive

In the Terms and Conditions of the DCL Vacations 2007-2008 brochure (the one with the DVD inside), p56, it says:

"Each Guest may bring aboard the ship a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge, not to exceed two bags per person."

And in the information pack that we received recently, in the 'Setting Sail - Disney Magic' booklet, on p3 it says:

"Grab your suitcases (no more than two (2) per person please)."

From what others have said on the board, it would seem DCL don't enforce this. But as it is in the T&Cs, then they could at any time. Or I suppose they could start charging for any extra bags, like the airlines do.

We want to know how do they keep the same price for those Hotdogs!?!:confused3 Its been the same price for years.....

Dear friends:

This morning I picked up all of our accumulated mail at our neighbors who had been collecting it for us and saw the letter from Carol (pahrumpgil). This is just a brief note to thank everyone for their concern.

Finding this thread was confusing until I read about the new rules. I thought my DH has posted our status in the old thread but I guess not.

To everyone who has been worried about me, I am doing well. My DD Samantha developed a blood clot in her leg and lungs due to her use of birth control pills. She had been limping thinking she had pulled a muscle, had a deep tissue massage which made things worse.

A few hours before we were to fly home she was in so much pain that we went to the local ER. The life threating clots luckily were discovered before we flew home. She spent some time in the hospital in Orlando before we were able to take her home. She is on the mend but will be on Coumadin for at least 6 months to dissolve the clots. Her visits to the doctor now only consist of a weekly meeting at the Coumadin clinic to measure her INR levels.

Right after that my SIL became ill, so I needed to go help DD with him. She also need surgery on her nose for old scar tissue so I have not been home much. DH has been traveling for work since we returned home so he has not been able to be much help with family issues.

I had asked DH to post what was going on with our family but clearly though he said he did , he must have posted in another board. Since he is in Asia, I will have to check where he posted via email. Since I thought everyone knew, I have not been checking on the board here as we canceled this cruise for family reasons. With all my travels and issues, I been checking not been checking my email so if anyone has emailed me, please give me a few days to get caught up.

To add insult to injury, my main computer crashed and I will have to wait until DH gets home to get any info from the computer. The lists I was keeping were on that computer so if you guys need any info from me, please let me know. Right now I am using my notebook computer which is my travel computer and has very little information on the drive.

Sorry to miss all of you on this special cruise.

Warm Regards,

Noel
