Night Deb!

Yup, I fell asleep. I'm so glad you knew that I did that instead of thinking that I was ignoring you. I was trying, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open. How many of us have fallen asleep over our laptops? Probably lots of us.

ok, got my invoices done for work, so I can play tomorrow without to much stress. Still have another 2 batches of invoices, but the important ones are DONE!

We'll catch up in the late after noon from our mini meet tomorrow, Steph, Marr and I are meeting up at Libby Lus with the girls for fun :dance3:

Nite all :cloud9:

Have fun at the mini meet you wild and crazy girls. Take some pictures and share with us.

John, loved the pictures of Sophia's party. Isn't it funny how all the girls are on one side and the boys on the other!! Glad she had a lovely weekend.

Ah, thank you. Have never seen the film.

superhero, now you're talking!!!:lmao:

Best to be careful I think.

I will be glad when you are back and caught up! Missed you!

Now that looks so good and easy, and surprisingly doesn't have additives.(or many) Can't see it ever being on sale over here so may have to pack one to try!

Deb, you have done such a great job stopping smoking, and soon you will be reaping the benefits. I know it is so disappointing about the weight, but you can do that later. You are going to look lovely in the clothes you already have - I know that.
How are the legs doing?

You're right Marilyn. One good thing to work on at a time. At least I have the new dresses to look forward to wearing on another cruise and it's incentive to stick with it and not give up.

The legs are not good. Very swollen, the edema is out of contol. That's additional weight gain because they're filled with fluid. I'm waiting for the boot to come.....that will get the edema under control. The wound won't go away until the edema is under control. But I have enough time to work on them before trip and get them good to go.

Sorry to hear your legs are so bad. Just keep doing what you have to to get them sorted. Hope the boot arrives soon.

I have to say I am really amazed at you doing this with so little complaining on the boards.... you made it seem easy. I know so many who tried and failed many times over yet you seem to have decided it was best for you and stuck with it! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I for one do not care about your dresses being new or older. ;)

It's the size of your heart, not your dress that matters! :flower3:

Oh Marr, that's so sweet of you to say. You are truely a good friend and you give me such great inspiration. I won't give up. I'll get this weight down later rather than sooner. Focus on one thing at a time. At least I don't smoke. I think today is 8 weeks. That's great! Thanks for your encouragement, it really means a lot to me during this trying time in my life.

I'd enjoy learning about it...anyone else?

We have a small group already forming for this. Once we get a little closer I'll try and organize a date, time and place for it. I'm going to enlist some help from some of the people I have met while doing the geocaching for ideas as to what to talk about and how the best way to do something like this is.

I'll try and get some geocoins and I'll have some travel bugs with me for sure. Of course my GPSr, my PDA and I'll have my laptop with some stuff on it too.

If anyone else wants to join our group to learn some basics about geocaching just let me know (PM is probably best so I don't miss you as this thread goes pretty fast).

Just thought I would share,:upsidedow

Are you going to try and find one of the caches on Castaway Cay? That could be a find adventure.

Pj

I found it, I found it! We even showed the CC Island Manager where it was because he didn't know they had a hidden cache there! Then it was raining, so he gave us a ride in the golf cart back to the ship and we got to ride through the backstage area of CC! (Of course, I asked if I could take pictures, but he laughed and said no!)

I've noticed in the watchlist that lots of people rent bikes to it. Would you suggest this, or is it an easy walk from the family beach? (Hopefully we are talking about the same one as there are 3 there).

Interested in the answer - I am planning on bringing an extra BOX - has our wine and books you all suggetsed to leave in Cave Cove....and box will stay on the ship. Hope there is not a limit of 2 bags apiece...

On the last PC cruise, my husband and I checked in 6 suitcases with the porters. They gave us extra luggage tags right at the port. What I did was pre-type us labels with all our information and stateroom number and then I just stuck it on. They wrote our stateroom number with a black sharpie big so they could easily see it.

Also, inside the bag, I put an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper with our name, address, stateroom number and cell phone numbers on just in case the luggage tags come off. It has been known to happen before! Then when DCL opens the luggage to see if they can identify it, they know exactly where to find me!

Scrap-booking - I went to the scrapbook store to purchase a glue stick - no glue sticks but a 50% new owner sale...I now have neat pages of Mexico and other disney add-ons....

Guess I need to sign on for the scrap-booking course now.....'

What color - RED???? Green????

Time for me to leave for work. Not sure if I will be able to catch up later - but everyone have a great day.

It is so easy to get hooked! I don't use glue sticks, I hate them, unless they are for some little thing. I use double sided scrapbook adhesive. There are alot of companies that make it, but I like Scrapbook Adhesives. It is in a red container and is 29 feet total in length. Runs around $5-$6 depending on where you shop.

Mine is off with the FAA doing his 6 month you bet your job test! Hoping to hear about noon how it went... always stressfull around when he has to do this.:scared: :rolleyes1

When are you guys flying out again? I forgot....

The one we found at the time was the only one at CC. It was over by the stingrays. You would not need bikes to get over there. It is a 5-7 minute walk from the family beach depending on how fast of a walker you are.

Hi!

I'm so sorry I suggested the mouse pins website to you guys! It seems like you are all now worried! I've used use it QUITE a few times and have never had any trouble! You have all been so nice with suggestions, etc. that I wanted to help all of you out who were interested in trading pins! So I apologize for stirring up the pot!! So if you would rather buy off E-bay please go right ahead!!!

And again I apologize to anyone I've concerned!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

(And by the way I'm just in the habit of always using exclamation marks...I'm not "yelling" as was stated in an earlier message by someone!!:rotfl: )

NO worry. It seems all agreed that the $2 pins on that site are all the legit ones and we are aware of the others. Those who are leary can order elsewhere. We love the CM pins and will be ordering from them, not for trading, but for keeping. Well, maybe we will order 2 of each that we like, one to keep and one to trade! ;) The price is certainly right and unlike ebay the shipping is reasonable. :thumbsup2 I find we pay more for shipping from ebay than the item in many cases. Just crazy!

Such useful information Linda, thanks.

There are some things in some little gift shops hiding along the sides. Expensive compared to sidewalk vendors in Mexico perhaps, but a fair selection that can be tried on.

I just read your post in Thread 4 about wishing you could have been more patient with your Mom.

I am sure you were wonderful. At any given time we can only do the best we can do.

Now, when you are more rested, you have the leisure to think of all the things you wish you had said and done, but at the time you did the VERY BEST that you could. I am sure of it.

Please remind yourself of it and if you need more reminders, PM me and I will tell you over and over and over. Please do not beat yourself up over it now. That only hurts you.

Do I wish I lived closer to my Mom so I could see her before she totally forgets me? Sure, but I cannot do it.

Do I wish I had been more patient when I had her for respite visits? Sure, but the reality of her 24/7 care overwhelmed me more than I wanted to admit to anyone at the time.

I am sad that I wasn't more loving and patient, but I did the best I could. I was so EXHAUSTED. I have to remind myself of that daily as she slips further and further away all while living 700 miles from me in an Alzheimer's care facility with my brother as the primary care contact.

Jan

Jan, it's not any easier having her right in front of your face while it's happening either. My mom lived in the same town as me and had the early stages of dementia. She insisted on doing everything herself even though she was at a time where she needed the help. In her world everything was right and tight. In reality we lost the house because she couldn't manage it in the end and didn't have all the right paperwork in order for us to keep it. But in her world, all was well so she didn't need any help. She took care of everything for us. She kept driving and getting into accidents. She kept falling in the house but wouldn't use the walker because she didn't need it. She wouldn't let us do her grocery shopping for her or take her to her many doctors appointments or let us help her with her medications. We didn't fight her we just let her be and I think fortunately she passed before she got any worse mentally. Oh yeah, and then there's the exhaustion because she's in a hospital every other week or so and you have her husband to take care of because he can't take care of himself and she's not home to do it so you get him. I still have him to care for now, even after she is gone.

Your parents become your children one day.....and you worry about them and care for them whether they are in the same town or 700 miles away. I'm just saying you won't feel any differently whether they are near or far so don't beat yourself up over it thinking that it could be different if only......it would be the same no matter what.

What I have learned from all of this is that I don't have any kids to take care of me when I become the child.....that's only 20 years from now or so. I have to make sure that I can take care of me. John has his kids.....but I'm not sure they would take care of him, forget about me. I think me and John better plan on taking care of ourselves.

The upside is that I don't smoke anymore and since I don't have to buy all new clothes in a new size, I'm already packed and ready to go. Just need to get a cab or car service to the airport leaving from home at the start of this trip.

We did our income taxes and we'll use the money that we're getting back to play on this trip. So that really makes us ready to go. Just two more months and three weeks to go.....it will go very quickly.

Deb, you know that we are all SO proud of you for not going back to the awful habit when you got discouraged about the lack of weight loss. Just keep it up, you will soon (well maybe not real soon, but within a few more months) be able to stop the munching to replace the cigarettes. Cheerios are a great replacement and much easier to give up when the time comes! ;)

That is a huge accomplishment in itself!! :thumbsup2 Be very proud of yourself!!
Deb so true great job of being smoke free...8 weeks!!!!wow:thumbsup2 I hope you get the boot soon so your legs can get better in time for the cruise:goodvibes

ok, got my invoices done for work, so I can play tomorrow without to much stress. Still have another 2 batches of invoices, but the important ones are DONE!
