I am going to say this once and that is all.....

I am tired of taking care of old grumpy people!! You would think that I have changed most of my entire life and the lives of my children and you would think someone would say Thank you and NOT COMPLAIN.

I think you are just wonderful Lisa. You do deserve a medal. And there is someone special watching you who thinks that too and will give you your reward one day! For now though,

OK....now I really have to get out of here. I never did my running around because I got sidetracked and did my State taxes. Filed and waiting for refund by direct deposit. Should arrive just in time to pay my property taxes. Nice how things work sometimes!

Sometimes things just work out in wonderful ways!!

I have made my SIL (my older brother's Andy's wife) PROMISE that as soon as I start to act like my mom, she will take me to the backyard and SHOOT ME!!!

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!

Trouble is you might just have to shoot her first so have a back up plan!!!

You know - I've given of my stateroom hosts a small picture of us - I ran into one host that was our stateroom host on deck 2 on deck 7 some 3 yrs later - and he remembered me! Went and told our then stateroom host to take care of us and continually checked up on us. I thought that was so nice. So you can try that route! I usually print up a small picture of us and put it on a magnet with the sailing date. Or else I buy a small magnet in port and "sign" it and give it to them.

Or if your "giving" away fish gifts and you have any extras - they sure like them. On the Med repo I had a couple of DIS magnets left over - I asked my stateroom host if he wanted one - don't know why - he didn't know my DIS name - but he jumped at the chance. Course it had a picture of the Magic on in with Mickey and Minnie cartoon character on it.

We took a bottle of wine we made for a server from a prev. cruise to try. He LOVED getting that and told us that he did NOT share it with his friends. We also gave our stateroom hostess last year half a bottle of wine on the last evening that we did not finish. Next morning she told us she drank it all herself and was a bit tipsy but loved it. I think they party on their off hours.

I totally understand I have been taking of my parents and I swear Thank you is not in their vocabulary! Even my DD who is 5 is picking it up, she says "they don't have good manners mom!"

DrHug is always good for a little comic relief! I am reading a bio of George W and Laura said that she married him because he made her laugh. I marked that page because I want to show it to DrHug, since that is what I have always said about him.

Ahh that was so great of you to do that! Hey I have a bunch of pins that I need to gift away as well! I might them along and play santa to some people with them aas well. I would be in the right crowd for it!

If you do, I have a 13yog who would be SO thrilled to get one. She's trying to collect them but we make her buy most of them herself, so she usually only get one per trip. It's going slow and she never trades them because she's so attached to every one!

The Med internet connection was terrible. I have a Verizon card for my laptop...I will bring it and hope it works and then no Internet charges. I wonder if this World Blackberry will work? Anyone know?

On regular Eastern and Westerns the ship Internet works very well...and since we won't be halfway arond the world, maybe it will work better on this trip????

Any idea how much Verizon is going to charge for this? We tether Dennis' cell thru Verizon, which is same as the card I think. I wonder if there will be a pre minute charge like there is for cell phone usage on the cruise ship.

I am cooking veggie stir fry for lunch for the girls and I, with John at work I can get by with no meat!

I have been throwing things out...this may take me a year!! John has a bad habit of saving store signs, price tags, invoices....etc! But I did find lots of spare change! Got my spending jar started!!!!!

If I get one more call from a car dealer, I am going to scream! I wish I could name the price over the internet have the necessary paperwork ready and sign and drive!

V, our credit union has a "negotiator" (I don't think that is what they call it, but...) that will work out the deal for you, set up the paperwork, etc. We have never used the service, but I have seen brochures about it on the counter there.

I am going to trya nd stick to the small photo package, an ornament, some pins and a little something in each port...I am finding so much junk that is in nooks and crannies that never sees the light of day!

Lisa, sorry to hear about the frustrations with all your caretaking. Hang in there!

I'm finally getting around to getting the fish teams all completed! I read back some and didn't see any comments about the March 1 deadline and so I think I will keep to it. So if you have a fish extender and want gifts and have NOT given your name and info to LisaAnn, please do so now! LisaAnn - it is you that is keeping that right??

As far as being on a team, you need to let me know by Feb. 29 as I will post the final teams on March 1. ANYONE at ANYTIME can go around and give gifts! You don't need to be on a team, or let me know or Lisa know. Afterall, who turns away a gift???? But if you want to join a team, please PM if you haven't already. If you have, I will be contacting you this week to put you on a team or to confirm your current team. It would be helpful if each team had one leader, although not necessary. It would also be helpful if teams had a "name."

As I'm looking at the list I received from Lisa, I see Karen & Noel on it and we know Karen isn't coming sad1: but understand!). But what about Noel? Any final word from DCL? I guess even if she is coming, we might want to take them off the teams sad1: )? So does that group want more members, do they want to keep their name? Team details:

So we are heading up today to Tahoe for a week. Both DH and I will have to work. I CAN'T wait to take a vacation AND not work! I wish DH would have the same...but I'm sure he will have quiet moments on the ship.

Nan, you were right - he is now getting really busy. Seems like Dec-Jan/Feb is just very slow for private business lawyers. So good news is he is busy, bad news is he will most likely be busy while on the ship!

I think it was Carol's DH that was checking into the Verizon plan?? I'd be interested in this. Does anyone know if you can get wireless internet through your own carrier? My DH thought it might not work as internet is different than cell phone I guess?? He thought the only way to get internet on the ship is through the ship's carrier...which is spotty on a good day. Hope he is wrong!

I really do not like packing for snow...I love packing for the sun though! I just hate trying to find all the warm clothes, especially since we don't have tons of it. Luckily, I kept one suitcase all filled with mittens, ski suits, hats, etc. So just need to throw that on the top of the car. I also don't like packing for the drive...finding all the car charges, DVD players, gameboys, etc. I guess if I was just was more organized it would be all ok!!

Ok, really I shouldn't be complaining as we are very lucky to be able to have time at Tahoe, even if work is a factor. The kids have next week off - they call it "ski week" at our school so lots of pressure to take the kids skiing!

Off to pack...I'm still a little bummed I didn't get a Palo's dinner after all that trouble. I think I would like to join Palo brunch group if there is one we can?? I think I mentioned to take us off as I wasn't sure if DH and I would want to eat alone (and romantic! ), but I think for brunch that would be great to be with a group. For dinner, I will keep trying to have that romantic dinner!! Deb - can you add me to your brunch list? Or is that Linda? I can't recall who is doing Brunch now that Noel is MIA.

I'm so concerned about her, it is just so unlike her. I do so wish she would PM one of us just so we know all is fine. People's needs change and perhaps she simply needed to take a break from the internet and DIS...who knows.

John, I hope she has a great time! We always invite lots on DD's because it's a holiday and you never know. This year we invited about 24, 1 called and said they could not come, about 12 said they could and 23 showed up.... So I guess RSVP does not mean what it used to.

I invited 90 people to a baby shower - 1 rsvp'd - over 80 showed up!
