May 1 FE Thread: Who wants it?

Hi eogren! We would love to have you join! The number of gifts is going to depend on the number of participants. Pretty soon everyone who has signed up is going to get a PM from me requesting names and stateroom numbers. About a month before sailing I will send a complete list to everyone, organized by deck to make delivery easier. You can either choose to give a gift to each stateroom, each person, or maybe even one gift for the adults to share and smaller individual gifts for the kids. Some people may even choose to give multiple gifts throughout the cruise. It's just whatever you feel comfortable doing. As far as what you need to place outside your door, it just needs to be something with pockets to collect your goodies. Most will have pockets for each family member. Some are personalized with each person's name. However it could be something as simple as a tote bag. I'm making mine out of travel sized pillow cases and I plan to post a pic once I'm done. There are sellers on eBay and etsy who will make one for you also. There are several helpful threads on the main cruise board with lots more information and ideas but this is a start. Hello, everyone! It's getting closer and closer, and I get more excited by the day! I started working on my fish extender this weekend. I'm making mine out of travel size pillow cases that zip. That means minimal sewing for me, which is what I need. lol So I know everyone needs to get a stateroom/person count so we can all start getting our gifts together. I am going to start working on a spreadsheet that will help us all stay organized. I want to make this as simple for everyone as possible. I plan to send out updates to everyone every 2 weeks, if there are updates to send. About a month before the sail date, I will send out a final spreadsheet with final instructions and helpful tips. So, I need for everyone to send me a PM with the following information: stateroom number (also note if you are staying in concierge), first names and genders of each person in the room, ages of kids, if you are celebrating a special event that's not already noted, and any allergies we need to know about. If there's anything else you would like noted, please include that as well. I also need your personal email address in the PM so I can send out the spreadsheet. I will not share or misuse your email address in any way. If you are not able to send me a PM, please reply to this post that you can't and I will send you a PM with my email address to email me with the needed information. I think this about covers it but if I've forgotten anything please let me know! May 1 can't get here quick enough!

Hi, Jessica_Mouse! Yes, go ahead and send me the information that you do have so I can go ahead and add it to the spreadsheet. I know people like to plan in advance, so I'm going to send out the first spreadsheet this weekend. I can always update your cabin number at a later date.

And, thanks for your response on the other thread. That makes me think they may not be doing the tea on the shorter cruises. That's a bummer because we did not want to miss any of the regular dining to do Palo. High tea would be a way to experience Palo without commiting to a full meal. Oh, well, that just gives me more pool time! It will be a wonderful trip regardless!

Hi - I am super new, didnt know what FE was until I read the last message and still wondering about the DH and all the other codes. Any key anywhere so I can catch up.

The FE sounds fun. Will someone tell me more or less how many gifts to bring, and if we need to put something special on the door that I have to bring with me ?

I am with my son, 11, daughter, 8, and mother. What else do I need to do to get in on the fun ?

Hello everyone! I have just emailed the first spreadsheet out. If you do not get it and you know you gave me your email address, please check your spam folders. Sometimes emails from unknown senders land there, and since this is the first time you have gotten anything from me, your email may think I am an unknown sender. If you still don't have it, let me know and I will double check what I have down as your email address. If you haven't given me your email address, I still most of your information. See page 2 for what information I need. I just have to say that my mother is super excited! I told her this weekend about the FE, and her response was, "Let's go shopping NOW!!" The whole FE gift exchange concept reminds us of a Christmas tradition we have in our family that we call "snowman presents". So, as I was explaining it to her, she said, "So, we get to do snowman presents on vacation? I LOVE it!!" So, I'm very happy that she is this excited about it, because she has been a little "luke warm" about taking a cruise. Well, if anyone has any questions, please let me know!
