May 1 FE Thread: Who wants it?

Hello from Boston! We would like to participate in the FE on the Dream May 1st sailing. Me and my Hubby-Ellie and Ray, two sons- Liam (7) and Patrick (4) and my MIL & FIL- Ray and Pat. Two cabins. Right now we are in room 9130 and IL's are in 7150. What happens if your room gets upgraded when you get there? How do we notify the group? I have never cruised and this is all new to me! Thank you!

Hi Coffeygirl!

Great question about the room changes. I am going to send a final spreadsheet the weekend after April 1 and will include final tips with that. This is a topic that will be covered in that document as well. There are two ways to handle. First, I will put a piece of paper on my door that people can write their room changes on. So, if you visit a room that is supposed to have an FE and doesn't, come to my room and look for updates. Another option is to deliver a note with your FE gifts to each stateroom noting the room change. If you choose the second option, it would probably be best to deliver those gifts sooner rather than later. I hope this helps! :)

HI! My family would like to participate in this!! Sounds fun! We have been on 4 Disney cruises and never done this......my kids will love it! We are a family of 6....4 kids...ds 13, dd 11, dd 8, ds3!!

Welcome!

Since you don't have 10 posts, I am going to send you a PM with my personal email address. I need your stateroom number, the first names and genders of everyone, the ages of the kids, any special information like allergies, and the top 3 favorite characters of each of the kids. I also need your personal email address so I can send you the spreadsheet of all the participants. The cutoff date is April 1, so please send your info by then. If you have any questions, please let me know!

I just sent the final spreadsheet out along with a "tip" sheet. As always, if you don't get it or have any changes/additions/questions, please let me know! I am super excited and am almost done with all my gifts. I'm thinking a whole bag devoted to that is in order. :) My mother is really excited about what she is working on as well. We really hope you all like everything!

I heard that too. I remember reading it somewhere on the DIS boards but It said some cabins had other sea creatures...i think one was a seahorse. I am on deck nine and I think that was one of the decks without the fish. :confused3

I hope it has something to hang to it, even if its any sea creatures its better then none . If not Im going to have to think of a back up plan mabe if the door in the inside has a hook I can run a string over the door and tie it in the front of the door or I could use one of those 3mm command hooks that don't mess up anything Im about to call disney and ask about this.

I had read that some have starfish and some have sea horses, both of which will work for hanging the FE on. I have not heard of rooms having nothing. If that's the case the 3M hook should work.

This room is handicapped accessible, and we were assigned this room for our cruise (none of our party requires this type of room). It was larger than most rooms and had 2 portholes which were really nice. There is no divider curtain between the bed and couch/drop down bed area (sleeps 4). Comparing this room to stateroom 6000 on the Disney Wonder (which we recently sailed on - upgraded to it at the port) we both felt that this room was slightly larger and the bathroom was also slightly larger/wider. It had a large wheel-in shower with a drop down seat and rails. The only negative we found is that the room does NOT have a fish located outside the door, so if you wanted to participate in the fish extender, you would have a problem. Also, on our cruise the navigators were not left in the rooms, but delivered to the fish later in the evening. We had to go down to Guest Services each evening to ask for a Navigator (even though we explained the problem and even had an officer come look to verify there was no fish, they never "fixed" the issue by sliding the Navigator under the door or anything). I also imagine if you were traveling with a wheelchair that the final turn to the room might be a little challenging - it is a sharp turn at the end. Unlike room 6000 on the Wonder, the automatic door for this room did not have a switch to turn it off, so therefore you must wait a few minutes to make sure your door closes completely before walking off. Overall, I'd love to have this room again!

OK - NOW I'm nervous....I was just glancing thru previous "Meet Threads" and stumbled upon this post from a cruise earlier this month:
"The cruise was a BLAST and I wish Iw ould have had the time to participate in the FE but it is a good thing I didnt .... my door didn't have the hooks like evryone elses. I was in 8682, the handicap veranda. It was weird, the only one I saw without a hook. "

I'M IN 8682!!!! What if there really is no hook? Any suggestions as to what I should do to hang my FE???? :scared1:

I would agree with the others and use a 3M hook. We use these all the time and they are very strong and do not harm the walls or doors.

I hope everyone is having a great week! Ten day count down is here! Yea!!!

Me to Jessica!!! I also read our room those not have one to.=( Its seems that the handicapped accessible rooms don't have one. I just called Disney and they inform me to 1st check our room if there isn't a fish, sea horse or a star fish then to go to guest severs and let them now about you been part of the Fe and they will work something out for you. They don't recomend to try to use a 3M hook because it can mess up the door or the wall and then they will be a charge to you to fix it. Im just going to bring extra String incase I have to tie it onto the door. Hope this Info help =)
