May 1-4, 2014 Bahamian Disney Dream Cruise

Hello!
I am soooo excited to say that I just booked my cruise and will be joining you all on the Dream sailing May 1! I am traveling with 2 friends to celebrate my 40th birthday! I am leaving my husband and 2 daughters (12 and 9) behind, much to the girls' dismay.

I am an avid WDW traveler but this is my first cruise, Disney or otherwise!
I can't wait to set sail!:

Welcome! :thumbsup2

Another day of 30 below wind chills - I need to be on the ship just to thaw out! :rotfl2:

Hello all! We just booked this cruise this week. I am so excited because we thought it would be a least another two years before our next cruise. I'm pregnant with twins (already have 3 children) and we figured we'd be waiting until the twins were 18 months before our next one. But we get to join you all and squeeze in one last cruise as a family of 5.

Hello, My family and I will be sailing the Dream on May 1st. We are all very excited! This will be all of our first Disney Cruise. Some of us have cruised before. There are 12 of us, which includes my 99yr old grandmother, my parents and 2 couples with our children! We are celebrating a lot for this trip. My friends are celebrating there 11th anniversary on 5/2, all of our children's birthday that are only weeks apart and myself, for passing the HESI exam!

I am extremely new to this and will be on the cruise (first timers) by myself with my 2 children (7 and 5). I want them to have the best experience available. I saw the FE list in post #3 and added my info accordingly. NOW WHAT??? Do I make/buy for everyone listed? Do I wait and check the final list right before we sail? I dont get it...

The cut off for the list is tomorrow and then you make for whoever is on the list! It's my first time too and I'm so excited! Getting fabric this week for our actual fish extender and working on the gifts! We will be sailing with our granddaughters, 5 & 9!

Hello and Welcome! Concerning the FE, there are some threads you can click on at Post #3. We like this activity to be fun, not stressful. Do what you can, and don't feel you have to break the bank. You can become crafty, or find things that interest you. Some will give out things that are from their hometown. Food is allowed, but not homemade. Food items have to be in their "purchased packaging" as per Disney rules. I've also heard that many throw out homemade food. I wouldn't want anyone here to spend the time making something only to have it being thrown out.

As far as the FE itself, you can create your own using your creativity, or there are people on Etsy that make them for a fee.

You can give gifts to each individual, or per stateroom. Some will give individual gifts to the children, and a combined gift for the adults... there are so many ways/combinations. It's all your decision. We also choose when and how many times we want to give the gifts. Some will give 1 gift each day, some will give 1 gift for the entire cruise. Again, no rules :)

The listing will close Saturday, March 15, but there may be a few last minute people wanting to join. It's your decision if you want to contribute to the last minute subscribers. Some can, some can't.

Hope this helps a little. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone, can't believe how soon our cruise is now!!

I haven't been able to contribute to the fish extenders this time around :( we have not had an easy time of it the last few weeks. Our neighbours had a fire and we have pretty major damage to our house and given our wedding is now just over 3 weeks away I didn't want to sign up for it as I didn't think I'd have time to organise anything.

Given the last few weeks I cannot wait to get on the plane! Hope everyone is having an easier run up to their vacation that we are! :)

Hello and Welcome! :wave2:

Sorry to hear of the troubles you've had...it certainly does sound like you've been busy!
We do have a FB page if you'd like to sign up for that. Just look up Cruisin' the disney dream may 1-4.
I'm sure we all agree... this vacation can't start soon enough! :thumbsup2

Are we too late to join the FE group?

We just booked the May 1st Sailing a few days ago to celebrate our son's first birthday! We know that we've signed up late but are hoping that there may be a few others that would like to participate in the fish extender. Should we add ourselves to the list? Don't want to cause a fuss, just thought I'd ask if it's too late.

Looking forward to setting sail!

Hello! And welcome!
I'm sure you'll have some that will participate the fe with you. :)
Are you aware of our fb page? We post a lot of information there too!

Thanks for all of your help! I wasn't sure what to include for extras on the list.

I only added info to the original list. Do i neeed to add to the other sheets as well? Disney hasn't assigned our room yet but i will be sure to update with that info when they do.
