At the moment we're not planning on using MaxPass but we'll see how it goes. I can see us possibly getting it for our 4th park day either because of sore feet or because of the larger crowds. Or...if we want photpass. So if so, a couple questions:

  1. How do you get it added to your account so can book via the app? We bought Canadian vouchers so don't have hard tickets yet and not sure if anything (aside from dining reservations) are linked.
  2. How does Photopass work? At WDW the pictures were automatically linked to your account when they scanned your magic band.
  3. Are there photopass photographers all over the park? Or only at character meets? What about rides?

1. I have not done MP yet myself but I understand it is through the app after you scan your tickets and are in either park.
2. Yes, the photos show up in your account like at WDW.
3. PP Photographers are all over like at WDW

You can add MaxPass on the app, once you are inside (or I believe near the parks). A popup for MaxPass will appear on the app and go to "Get FP" to sign up for it. We had trouble adding it to our account and guest services had us sign out and sign back into our account and that fixed the problem.

For the ride photos, just take a picture or note the number on the picture and link that to your Photopass.

As others have said, some of the attractions have Photopass (Space, Splash, Screamin', RSR, and GotG). You can write down the photo number and then manually add it to your Photopass (make sure to include the letter that starts the picture ID). Some of the characters (mostly those at fixed M&G locations) have Photopass photographs (the roaming characters do not always/usually have a photographer). We found it pretty easy to get a Photopass card from the first photographer we saw, and then use that each subsequent time we visited a Photopass photographer. We entered the card number into our account as soon as we got it so that way, if we lost the card, we'd still have access to the photos that were previously taken.

From the PPs, I realize that on #2 it needs to be clarified that ride photos do not show up automatically in the app like they do with WDW MagicBands. When you follow @figment_jii advice and enter the ride photo number, then it will show up in the app. The PP photographer photos will show up automatically in your app if they scan your entrance ticket.

Also there is an option in the app to get a QR code to have the photographer scan. I took a screenshot of it and just had the PP photographers scan it to avoid going back inot the app every time.
