A bunch of us are currently trying to figure out where to stay in October so my friend called Disney to get some prices for our offsite villa vs. onsite villa debate...

She was told that they don't make 15 or 16 night reservations they can only do 14. I checked on the website and on Expedia and I can't seem to get beyond 14 nights there either :scared1:

I can't believe Disney intends to send us home early! Is there any way around it other than making two reservations and possibly having to do a check out/check back in between them?

Do you think it would help if we explained that the extra days are going to be our Disney shopping days?!

Nope I don't think so. We went for almost 3 weeks Nov./Dec. and we had to book 2 ressies. It wasn't bad we never had to leave the room and pack up or anything. We were staying Club Level though so they took care of everything for us the night before even put our new keys under the door while we were sleeping. I didn't mind it at all. Have fun.

I have never been blessed with such an oppertunity. However, I am sure you can get the pricing info you need with only 14 nights, but breaking it down per night then multiplying it by the 17 nights. If you in fact decide to stay with Disney, just make two reservations and ask that they be linked together. I have done that.

They will mark it as a "continuing reservation" and it should be pretty smooth...

We had to book two reservations.

Wow, that seems like such a crazy policy. You'd think they'd actually be trying to encourage you to stay longer.

Oh well, two reservations it is then. Thanks for the info!

Yes, definitely two reservations.

Just make sure you are reserving the exact same room category to minimize the risk of having to move. For example, if you are at WL and both reservations are Woods View, you shouldn't have to move. But if one is a Woods View and one a Courtyard View, you probably would. Any time I've had to do it, I've always booked the same room type, and I've never had to move. You just have to stop by the desk on the check out day of the first reservation and check in again for the second reservation.

I always thought in the past that they did this to keep people from booking starting the last day of value season and staying for weeks on end in peak season at the lower rate. Now that they are doing rates by the day, that shouldn't be an issue any more, so I wonder if they will eventually do away with the 14 day maximum?

Thanks, everyone, but it looks like we'll be going with the offsite villa.

Sounds like a good excuse to try 2 different resorts

That was my first thought! The chances are slim to none now though. :sad2:
