Maui Schooner

Has anyone stayed at the Maui Schooner? I just got a call from MS that there is a trade available for my selected dates. The trade is through Interval International.

I haven't stayed there but have looked around the grounds and just peaked in the units. It is rated 7.74 on TUG. The Schooner is in South Maui, some distance from the action in Lahaina. IMO, it is not in the league with DVC but if you're set on those dates and can get what you need, it still may be worth it. I personally would not accept a trade there using DVC, but that's me. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there at a low enough "cost".

One thing I have noted about the TUG rating is that lately it has been getting far better reviews. Apparently they have renovated recently and now are nicer than before. I am not sure if this was before or after your looksie Dean. That said, I did not include it as an optionf in my request for a Hawaii exchange. I used it as a back up as there always seems to be availability there.

Actually the location is far more the issue than the resort itself. It' actually very similar to resorts like SOK in many ways. Our visit was in the summer of 2002.

Thanks Dean - that is good to know. We ended us doing a direct exchange on Wikiki for the Hilton Hawaiian Village - We traded a 1BR at BW for a 2BR Ocean View.
