Hey guys--
I have had a regular twin size bed in my room forever since its all i could fit in here,,i have finally figuredo ut a way to rearrange everything so that i can fit a bigger bed---now i am going tomorrow or this weekend to go shopping for something bigger..
i keep seeing a ton of sales--mealys , raymour and flannigan..
any info on the places that have really good prices on mattresses, etc?

ive never done shopping for this, and my mom isnt home to ask , so i ask you guys :cool1:
thanks in advance

Oh my! I totally failed at mattress shopping.....3 times in a row! I've had 2 different beds delivered to my house just this week! Wishing you the very best luck in the world with your selection. Oh, do a search on the Dis and you can pull up quite a bit of useful info. Some was a thread I began last week and it has a link to even more info. Again, good luck! :teeth:

 Cosco..Has the most to die for mattresses. .I have one it is like heaven!

Well, be aware of what type of mattress you like...firm or soft. Also, they have the pillow-top type, which is what we have.

Ours is a firm mattress with a pillow-top on top. I like it. Those Tempurpedic mattresses are supposed to be good, but they are expensive.

I went last night with my mom to look..and ended up buying one--i have no clue what kind it is..i just went from mattress to mattress laying on it...then i narrowed it down to 3 of them..then just kept going back and forth until i picked the one that i liked best haha...I ended up getting a queen sized bed and already went and got new sheets!
There was a big sale at Raymour and Flannigan that ends monday so we got it---it included free shipping so Tuesday they will come bring my new one, and take my old one away

Lay down on the matress. Get into whatever position you sleep in and stay like that for a bit to see if it's comfortable.

Anne--thats what i did at the store! i felt so strange haha..but that s how i picked the one i liked the best :)

My DH and I "sponn" when we're going to sleep, and end up on opposite sides of the king bed by morning. So we tried a gamut of positions to be sure it was right for us. We might have looked weird, but didn't care, we didn't want to waste money on the wrong mattress for us.

Make sure when you get it you put a mattress cover on it, especially if it's under waranty. DH and I learned the hard way that a manufacturer won't honor a waranty if there's even a tiny spot on it. We bought a king and 6 months later it collapsed. The manufacturer would not honor the warranty because my kids had spilled a drop of juice on the mattress about the size of the head of a golf tee. Yeah sure, THAT'S what made the mattress collapse!
