Ooooh, the week after Thanksgiving is usually really fun. All of the holiday things are happening (maybe you could request that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party be part of your wish) and its just beautiful. The weather can be a little chilly though. The crowds are typically lower as kids have just been off for Thanksgiving and they are back at school.......its a magical time of year to go!!!!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Disney the week after Thanksgiving, I think that is a WONDERFUL time to chose to go!!!!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to check in and let you know we are still here. We have not heard from MAW since they contacted us to let us know that we could go. I guess maybe they are waiting on us to pick a date. I am still unsure if we will go in Oct or Nov. I think I have decided against Dec. I am still open to any input. I have not been to Disney since I was a child.

We were at the mall the other day and went into the Disney store. The clerk was so sweet and gave the kids a little goodie bag of stickers and coloring sheets when she found out that Mattie was a wish kid. She was so excited!

We have had a lot going on with school and medical the last few months. I hope that things will slow down a bit and we can start to focus on some summer relaxation and start planning our trip.

Thanks for dropping by and checking on us while I have been away. It is great to come back and see that you all are here.

Not sure how I missed Matties PTR...sorry. I'm so glad she made her wish to go to Disney World. She will not regret it. We have been on 2 Disney wish trips. Our youngest went in Nov. 08(the week before Thanksgiving) and this past March. When we went in November they had a record breaking cold front. It was freezing, but what was nice was the crowds was very low. We didn't even need to use the magic button,because they were mostly walk on rides but we did use the button. March the weather was better and didn't have to wear jackets all day. The crowds were much worse. Had to use the magic button and still had to wait 30 min. for rides...which was much better than 100 min. Each month had it's pros and cons.

Can't wait to hear more about your family and trip planning.

Just a quick update..

No major news, but we did email our date request. We asked to go in OCT. I will update as soon as I hear anything back. Picking a date makes it all seem more real.

Hey guys!

I am sorry it has been so long. I am not sure how to update at this point. We know we are going in Oct.... but I haven't heard anything beyond the dates being okay. MAW has dropped off the face of the earth. I am not sure if that is normal, or if I should call and just check in. I guess their really isn't anything for them to be doing... just feels so strange not having any contact. I feel like it is all a little surreal and I guess that is making it hard for me to plan. The kids have even stopped talking about it. I guess it is time to get a video and start planning things so that it will start to feel real to all of us.

Mattie has had a lot going on medically too.. I guess that is part of the rut I find myself caught in. Hopefully I will find my happy place and get back to planning and posting.

Hi...I don't think I've posted here before, but I'd love to follow along as you plan! This will be the most amazing trip ever for your family.

I think at this point you could call them and see if they have official dates for you so you can start to do some REAL planning, make ADR's, etc! It's time for the real excitement to begin!! Can't wait to follow along for the fun!!

Hi everyone! I'm Mattie's dad and Shelly's husband. I confuse easily so this whole forum and thread thing is a challenge to me. We've decided to get things ramped up and officially "excited" for the trip now and are going to be posting much more regularly. We finally started looking on the website to pump the kids up on the different rides and attractions as well. They are sufficiently stoked up and ready to go. Only 3 more months!! Eternity in kid years. It's been over 25 years since I've been to Disney World and I can't wait either. It's a wonderful thing to be able to see your kiddos having the time of their life and the wait is killing me too.

I look forward to planning our trip and getting to know everyone!

I sure hope you get dates soon. My son, Owen, made his wish in March and we requested dates the first week of December. We still haven't heard a thing. It's hard to get excited and you want to plan.. but you just have nothing to work with. I'm excited to follow along. I did go online to Disneyworld.com and requested custom maps and they have some cool Disneyworld Resort shows on Netflix. The wait is killing us as well.. can't wait to hear how things work out!!

Yea for dates!!! I don't know the answer to your questions; however, if you still need answers I would ask on the Wishtrippers thread. Just wanted to let you know I am still here, reading along when I can! Your trip will be here before you know it!

Hey Shelley!! So glad you all are getting so close! It's gonna fly by, trust me. I second the posting on the current WishTrippers thread. They were a wonderful help for us. We didn't have a celebration party for Nikolas since he really wouldn't understand it but I'm sure there are tons of other families who can give you info. See you on FB!
