Mater at DL

Is Mater at DL the equivalent to the teacups at WDW where you just spin around in a tight circle. I really hate those kind of rides.

No ... it isn't. it kind of whips you one way and then the other and then back again. Watch the full ride here.

It's more of a cross between The Whip and Scrambler. The seats are on the back of the tractor, so you whip from side to side. They're attached to the giant wheels, so you move in a large circle. You also move across all 3 circles, so you'll change directions twice, and that causes the seat to really whip at those points.

Like the PPs have said, it's more of a whip than a spin. I get motion sickness pretty easily, so I absolutely cannot do the teacups but love Mater's. It's really fun!

Not at all. I HATE the Teacups but absolutely LOVE Mater's. It's one of those rides that many pass by thinking it looks boring or nauseating but it is SO fun. We literally laugh so hard we can't breathe. Can't wait to do that one again!

Another one here who cannot do Tea Cups (spinning), but can do Mater... The whipping does not bother me and we, too laugh and laugh.
By the way, it is in Carsland at DCA (not in DL).

It's like the Scrambler ride. I finally went on it last summer with my brother and my cousins and it was fun. I personally like the ride.

Teacups--no. Mater--yes! It's lot's of fun and doesn't make me dizzy at all.

The music is great too! But then, I'm kind of a redneck. When we went in April I road it with my DGD4 and I would exaggerate the sliding back and forth on the seat as we whipped around. She loved it.

Let me tell you, Mater is the ride that makes me laugh and laugh and laugh. Seriously, I love Mater....but I cannot do the Teacups. lol

I was going to post the same thing. It doesn't do the "circles-spingning" that get me.
