My sister and I are taking her 8 year old son to DW? I was thinking about ordering some kind of matching shirts. Any suggestions or is this a goofy idea?:confused3

Why not make them? There are lots of creative people on the creative DISigns board that have lots of ideas.....I used one of her ideas to make a shirt for my son's birthday. (It said "Birthday Pirate", had the POTC skull on it, plus his name and the date...he was thrilled!)

They even have instructions to walk you through the iron on process. If I can do it-anyone can LOL

We had shirts made at Disney Store for my girls. In their cases it was 2 pink shirts with different versions of the same character and their names on the front. They loved their shirts and I loved keeping them matchy. I put them in matching clothes every day at Disney so if one kid gets lost I can just say "find another 1 that looks just like this 1!"

We made our own shirts with a fabric paint kit from Michael's. The kids had just turned five, so let me tell you, you could pick us out of a crowd! :lmao:

It's kind of goofy, but it's creative and it was fun, and I snuck a few hidden mickeys in there just for good measure. You can't really see it, but we're wearing them in my sig pic.

There are some instructions either on the Creative DISigns forum or the Creative Community for Mickey tie-dye shirts as well. It is really neat all the extra attention that the custom t-shirts (either iron-on or tie-dye) get in the parks by guests and CM's.

The design board is AWESOME great ideas and they will personalize for you:) Good luck and enjoy the magic:)

You can also make shirts on Zazzle. They have a lot of Disney designs and are easy to personalize.

I love the idea of painting them ourselves and adding the hidden Mickey's!! We are SO doing THAT this year!! My 2 plus 3 of their cousin's going this time so we'll have lots of fun with this!princess: princess: princess: princess: pirate:

It looks like I'm a little late to get something designed on the DISigner board (Disney made them quite) but I saw a lot of great ideas. At least I know we won't stick out like sore thumbs if we are dressed alike. Thanks everyone.:worship:

An easy do-it-yourself one is to cut one large and 2 small circles out of contact paper, and stick them on your shirt in the shape of a Mickey head. Put cardboard inside so it doesn't soak through, then sponge or splatter with fabric paint around the image. Let it dry a little, peel off the contact paper, and then let it dry the rest of the way.

You have a "Mickey-relief"?, I guess is what to call it, and you can make matching, yet-a-little-different, by each family member starting with the same color shirt but using different color paint, or whatever.

Good luck, and have a great time!!!

We took my parents to WDW for their 30th wedding anniversary. I got all us all matches t-shirts from disneyshopping.com to wear. Actually, it got my parents some free food at dinner for their anniversary and a lot of people stopped to congratulate them!

You could always customize shirts for each family member, but have something in common throughout them all. That way everyone will be happy with their shirts!
