Do you use the 12 x 12 or 12 x 24? It seems like the 12 x 24 would be more for special projects like vinyl. If you use it mostly for 12 x 12 pages there wouldn't really be a need for the big mat, right?

I have a 12 by 24 page but rarely use it- for one thing I don't keep paper around for it generally.

They have a 12x24 paper stack at the new Mike's. I almost bought it, just to use the mat I've had for 2+ years. :lmao:

I have used the 12x24 mat a lot. Well, not the one, I've gone through several. I use it for party decorations - -I cut things out pretty big. I also use it when I am cutting out a large number of multiples. One year we cut out tags for our WDW autographs. 3 kids, 10 day trip - -I think I cut out about 150 tags. I made ribbons for swim team time trials - -again around 150 or so. It is useful when I make my Chrsitmas cards too. I used it for Halloween treat bags for the kids classes to.

I know I coulld get paper for it- Oh My Crafts has Bazzill paper that is 12 by 24 but I haven't needed it - I did break out that mat once to cut ships out for my 3rd graders out of bulliten board paper- just because it was faster than cutting the paper down to 12 by 12.

I was thinking about that yesterday - how do you tell your Cricut that the mat is 24 inches long?

THere is a button that reads "mat size". Underneath the screen (from left to right), there is the - + arrows, then the okay button, then settings, then mat size.
