Hi, all -

I'm new to the board, but I hope you won't mind if I ask a question.

My wife, my mom, and myself are going on the inaugural Western Carribean cruise on the Magic in May. On the DCL web site, they seem to indicate that the Magic doesn't offer the Master Chef Series or Wine Tastings -- that these are available only on the Wonder. I'm pretty sure that I remember these activities being available on our first Magic cruise two years ago.

My mom is a huge foodie (NOT fat -- just really enthusiastic!) and would love these activities, especially the Master Chef Series.

Has anybody been on the Magic lately? Do you know if the Master Chef Series and Wine Tastings are still available?

I know it's the first time for the Western Carribean and nobody really knows what they will offer. But if they've offered these activities recently, it seems likely that they will offer them on our cruise.

Thanks!

Rob

In January we took part in both the Art of Entertaining Series, and the Wine Tasting....they were a highlight of the days at sea!

We also cruised in January and went to a few of the Art of Entertaining series (too much going on the fit them all in!) We also went to the wine tasting and really enjoyed it.

By the way -- WELCOME TO DIS!!!!!!!!!!!

On the 3/23 Disney Magic cruise, the "Stem to Stern Wine Tasting" was held twice -- once on Sunday and once on Monday. Cost was $12. It's a very basic, beginner-level wine tasting. ("Riesling is usually fruitier and sweeter than Chardonnay.") If you expect advanced wine tastings such as at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, you'll be disappointed. But the "Stem to Stern Wine Tasting" is fun and includes a unique way to open a bottle of sparkling wine.

The "Master Chef Series" is just the name of the Sunday night dinner. Perhaps you mean the "Art of Entertaining" demonstrations -- these are demos in Studio Sea on days at sea. I went to a couple and my wife went to more. They're fun and often include tastes.

when do you sign up for the wine tasting? or do they just charge you as you walk in the door?

You sign up at Guest Services. I went to Guest Services on Saturday to sign up for the Sunday wine tasting. They charged the cost to my KTTW card and issued a ticket to me. When I went on Sunday, the event was not sold out.
