I figured this was the best place to ask this question! My DH and I are renting points in Dec at OKW for our first anniversary trip. I really want to plan something for us to do, other than the typical cake, etc. I have been reading about couples massages at SS, but just read that you can get massages at the R.E.S.T center at OKW too. Does anyone have any info they could share about this?? I've been searching, but can't really find anything, other than that it's offered for a fee?? I know I can just call and ask, but wondered first if anyone had something to share here. Thanks in advance!!

You bet! By appointment only . . .

i haven't had one there but have at SSR and BWV.

be aware that SSR is a top notch spa with all the amenities and atmosphere that comes along with that (and price) while BWV and OKW (i presume) are just small rooms off of a weight room or excercise room. you basically just get your massage and leave, whereas at SSR there is a relaxing waiting room with tea and such and a great locker room with a hot tub, sauna, showers, etc to enjoy afterward.

you will need to check the prices and decide if the extra cost is worth the extra experience for you.

I can say that DH is truly the massage king while on vacation!!! LOL!

His absolute favorite at VWL and he gets a deep tissue massage!!! I forget the girls name but he always requests her. She also works at the spa at the Gaylord hotel.

I have gone to SSR the past 2 years for a massage. I am a wimp when it comes to the pressure so I enjoyed it at SSR. DH, on the other hand, asked for a deep tissue at SSR, they said fine but it was not. He was not happy with it at all. But, I must say, he is an extreme and truly enjoys deep tissue.

For the facility and ambience, I would go to SSR, even though it is pricey!!! I can't wait to return in a few weeks for my massage!! and to use the health club!!!

Years ago, I had a massage at OKW but a woman named Allison. She is no longer there but works off site. The CM's at Hanks can get you her number!! She was really good!!!

Thanks for all the replies!! I have never had a massage before (professional anyway), so I really have nothing to compare to.

I have heard alot about SS, and looked up pricing, but we just can't afford it. I wish we could!! But a couple's massage is listed at $600, and thats more than we are even paying to STAY at OKW. Unfortunately we are young newleyweds and I'm finishing up grad school so we can't afford that much for a massage!

I am interested in doing it at OKW...it might not be as fancy and everything but I think its good enough for us!

Have you looked at the price list here?

http://www.relaxedyet.com/ss_treatments.asp

The couples massage is $270 for 50 minutes or $380 for 80 minutes. That's for both of you, not per person.

They also have the couples relaxation package for $400. That includes a massage AND hydrotherapy treatment for each of you, that's 4 treatments total.

Massages are no longer offerred AT OKW, but you could schedule an in-room massage. They are a bit more expensive, at $160 for 50 minutes, and $210 for 80 minutes, per person.

Hope this helps, and I hope you find that you ARE able to schedule massages during your trip!
