Massachusetts folks post here!!!

Why do so many people walk around that lake? Is there nowhere else to walk in Wakefield??????????

The walk around the lake is 3.3 miles. To be honest, I think MOST of the people that walk the lake in the summer are NOT from Wakefield!!! I used to be pretty faithful walking the lake..............it is a nice walk!!! Now I walk in my neighborhood when I have a chance and take the dogs!! My little one can't make it around the lake!!! LOL!!

I prefer to walk up in Breakheart Reservation - up the hill from the high school. 3.2 miles and a lot of hills - big hills.

I enjoy walking up Breakhart also. My dogs love it!!! My lab loves to swim there and my yorkie loves to meet all the other dogs!! I especially love it on a nice fall day and when my girls don't bring their roller blades............too many falls and skinned knees!!! LOL!!

OMG-Hood! They used to make the best eggnog at Christmas (don't know if they still do)-Hood's Golden Eggnog. Goofy4tink, can you have a glass of that for me after you have the Friendly's sundae?

Absolutely!!! I need very little to get me to have some Hood Golden Eggnog...so yummy!!! I may get a bit more rotund, but heck, it's for a fellow DISer!!!!

Lived in West Boylston from 1979-1997 when I married and moved to Acton and now live in Littleton with DH (doconeill).

Want good pastries, try Gerardos on Rt 9 in Westborough, best cannollis I've ever had! Also made our wedding cake (West Boylston store).
And speaking of yummy things...yes, Gerardos is terrific. I've never gotten birthday cakes there. We always use Evie's in Shrewsbury, on rt. 140...dd is addicted to them. Perhaps it's time to try a Gerardos cake.

Hello neighbor! I had no idea there were any other DISers from West Roxbury!

Hello to you, Neighbor! So far, it looks like we're the only Bostonians. Our home resort is VWL, but we've only been there once. My fave is Beach Club, so we try to get that whenever we go. Although we're headed down in 2 weeks and staying at SSR - Can't Wait!!! How about you?

Although I live in Milton, I grew up in Hyde Park. Most of my family lives or works in West Roxbury...I am sure we know some of the same people...it is such a small world, isn't it (no, I won't sing!)

Our home resorts are OKW & AKV. So far we've stayed at OKW, VWL, and BWV - and they were all great. We're staying at AKV in April. I hope we're able to try all of the DVC resorts at some point.

Have fun on your upcoming trip! :goodvibes

P.S. Where in WR do you live? We live right near Roxbury Latin.

Ditto. Born and raised in Indian Orchard (Springfield) and
now reside in Wilbraham. Hi, Disneygal55. GO SOX!!

Wow, we really do have a lot of Wakefield people. I wonder how often we've stood next to each other in line at Shaws, or Farmland or something. hehe.

Anyone know if the Disney resorts have TBS? We are leaving Friday and we gotta watch the SOX! Thanks!

Glad to see more people from Western MA! We've been traveling a lot down Boston Rd. through Wilbraham and to Monson to bring my DS to see his "new girlfriend" (he doesn't have a license yet). I love Wilbraham.

Oooh I love Farmland.

Oooh I love Farmland.

Me too!! I am a frequent visitor!! I don't often go to Shaw's (over priced) so I may not run into some of you other Wakefield residents there, but you will find me at the soccer fields (Mapleway) and at the high school football games (Landrigan) and Pop Warner, early Sunday morning games!!!!

I am sure I have driven by ALL of you at some time as it seems I spend more time in my car than out of it!!! No Disney paraphenila on my car as DH does not like bumper stickers or anything like it.

Well, I'm driving all around Metrowest and I do have Disney paraphenila on my car. So honk if you see a SilverBlue Chrysler Town&Country with a MickeyPumpkin atenna topper and a WDW bumper sticker that reads: Been There, Done That, Going Back!:thumbsup2

disneygal55 - if you're travelling through Monson, make sure to check out the Westview Creamery if you haven't already. Homemade ice cream (because it's a working dairy farm), pumpkin picking in the Fall, animals for the little ones to pet, hayrides, etc. It is worth a trip for the view alone.

And of course Wilbraham is the home of Friendly's, so if you don't go to the creamery you can get ice cream there!:thumbsup2

My niece plays in the Wakefield High Marching band, and my nephew plays on the soccer team.

Did any of you see the production of High School Musical over the summer? If you bought raffle tickets, I may have sold them to you. My niece was in it.

We did not make to to see HS Musical this summer as we were in Disney at the time. DD #2 wanted to be in the play but we already had our trip planned.

DD #1 will be cheering for the HS Varsity soccer team tomorrow night...........maybe she cheers for your nephew!! LOL!!

No offense to Friendly's, but you can not compare the two.
Maybe disneygal55 can take a detour to Westview Creamery. UConn Dairy Bar in Storrs, Ct also has fabulous ice cream. Red Sox won first game, keep it up!

Oooh I love Farmland.

I am always disappointed in the Farmland because I am spoiled by Wilson Farm in Lexington. They have more cashiers than Shaws.

I'm also a Market Basket gal. Also find Shaws too expensive. Did anyone hear that they are building a Market Basket up behind the new Stop & Shop in Reading??

I can't believe that they are building a Market Basket and Stop & Shop so close together! That is just silly!
