Masks Optional Starting June 15

Based on recent reports from the "Here Now & Just Back" thread of coughing kids being everywhere in the parks, I'm not sure I'd want any kiddos I cared about to be maskless around that. It's not exactly cold and flu season, KWIM?

Thats a judgment call for the parents to decide.

Well since they cannot ask for their ID or proof of vax then its irrelevant either way.

This is honestly Disneys way of just saying masks arent required anymore and were trying to get things back to normal

They would not have to ask because there are no vaccines available for kids under 12 - they are all unvaccinated.

Once states and establishments say no masks for those that are vaccinated it basically means it’s a free for all and they know that. Especially when they aren’t asking for proof.

I would be surprised if Disney is policing children who look to be under 12 years old to wear masks, but we will not know that answer until June 15th for sure.

Nope not true. There are trials & how can you eye up if someone is 11 or just turned 12?

Will happily pay adult ticket prices so I don’t have to deal with putting my kids in masks. I knew Disney was coming after my wallet again.

They literally can not ask if you are vaccinated or not. So if they intend to keep kids masked, then they are going to have to say "Kids 12 & under are required to wear masks". There is not another way to deal with it if they really expect kids to have masks on.

Actually, they can ask, and they can ask for proof ( they won’t) the thing is that you do not have to answer. They can Decide to ask you to leave, but I seriously can’t imagine this happening.
Maybe this is not “the way” it is in Florida but that is what was explained to me by a lawyer...and please don’t quote me and throw flames at me if this information is different than anyone understands. I’m not trying to be combative and confrontational and I’m SOOOOO tired of everyone going ballistic crazy over this, I’m honestly just trying to post what I understood to be true

exactly…you can still wear your mask so I’m not sure why anyone would be upset. Make the decisions that are right for your family.

Technically, yes, since the optional part only applies to vaccinated people. However, it doesn't sound like there will be any enforcement.

They weren’t policing kids under 12 without masks outdoors a couple weeks ago.

There's always sick kids in the parks. Parents don't want to cancel their trip or lose a day. I've seen parents give their kids tylenol in line (not for a headache).

I read that Disney Transportation doesn't include Disney boats or ferries. Is that correct?

they told us on the boats last week they were classified in the “indoor attractions” category.

We arrive the evening of June 14 with our 13-year-old niece in tow. All three of us are fully vaccinated. So excited by this news!

Yeah. Wonder about kids under 12. Seems kinda ‘yikes’ for families

I have a 5 year old and I’m glad we decided to push our May 2020 trip to Aug. 2022. I feel pretty confident he’ll be vaccinated by then. I wouldn’t feel safe with him in the parks right now.
