I read that Disney Transportation doesn't include Disney boats or ferries. Is that correct?

Here's the quote from the website (Face coverings will still be required of all Guests on Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner).

It doesn't mention boats. Maybe because they are open to the air masks won't be required on them. :confused3

I guess we'll know of the 15th!

we were ferry boat converts for good on our last trip. Faster than the monorail if there's a wait and that thing moves, 7 minutes to get across the lagoon and wide open on the inside. Some of the other friendship boats are more enclosed. Interesting question, they require everyone over 2 years old now to wear a mask. We know no under 12 is vaccinated. They say they expect everyone not vaccinated to continue to wear masks....isn't that every child 2-12?

i was wondering this too. Boats left off the list of transportation. Conceivably you could drive to all the parks and not bring a mask at all unless you need one for the ferry at the TTC. Not a super hassle for anyone with a bag but i you don't carry one, would nice not to shove one in the pocket.
Or you can do what we do here in NYS. Wear it on your wrist, even my grandchildren do this when mask wearing is not required. But it is handy when they are required.

A proud moment. Now I will actually buy photo pass

Looking forward to my trip in a few weeks! I wonder if this includes the cast members finally.

Man that Ohana hate made them drop masks to stop us from talking about it ;]

we saw people wearing it on their elbow...that seems pretty disgusting. It's 95, you're going to be sweating into it all day long. Our kids had lanyards.

I'm over here just waiting to see how this plays out. In my neck of the woods, the change to this type of policy meant that no one wore masks anymore. Vaccinated, probably not vaccinated (we are only at 40% locally, so...), and kids clearly too young to be vaccinated. I arrive 2 days after this policy change goes into effect. I have 3 kids too young to be vaccinated. I'll be watching for reports on what this really looks like on the ground.
I'm thinking the same thing. My little (6yo) is going to be bummed if she still has to wear them when mom and dad don't. We may be wearing them so she doesn't feel left out.

I'm not quite clear on what you're saying - there have been studies linking spread to indoor dining https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7010e3.htm?s_cid=mm7010e3_w

Although I'm hopeful rates are finally low enough we can resume these things reasonably safely.
DISNEY indoor dining. They're haven't been any cases linked to standing in line for Splash Mountain, yet masks were required. We know there has been evidence of spread in indoor dining envoroments yet not required there. Just seemed silly to be standing outside in line at some attractions and within 3 feet many times with a mask on and then go sit down in the same spot for an hour or more and have them not care at all if you are wearing it. Seemed silly.

ahhh that makes sense now. thank you for clarifying

They literally can not ask if you are vaccinated or not. So if they intend to keep kids masked, then they are going to have to say "Kids 12 & under are required to wear masks". There is not another way to deal with it if they really expect kids to have masks on.

It's the honor system, that is the only way they can do this. I am fully vaccinated but will have my mask with me if at any time I I feel uncomfortable I can wear it. Its that simple no rules saying you can't wear mask. We won't be there for another 3 1/2 months with things changing daily by then who knows what it will be. We are just going with the flow :thumbsup2 :daisy:

Looks like Disney is following what the state of California is doing... Glad to see this change finally happening. We will be there in August and very happy to not have to wear a mask on our trip at Universal or Disney World.

Since you brought back the noodles to O'Hana, now bring back Hoop De Doo!

Let’s not turn it into a debate. It’s a good thing we have reached this point. I’m happy. I’m proud. I respect the ones that continue to wear them and respect the ones that don't. Yes being vaccinated makes me feel good but I'm not scared of people who aren't.

I’m just happy right now

Don't be surprised if we see some firework or fast pass announcements sooner rather than later.. one can hope ( I been saying this for weeks, so my thoughts are always wrong, don't get your hopes up ;] )
