Masks on Planes? Advice!

I was unable to get a direct (non-stop) flight to Florida. (At time of booking there weren’t any—thanks Air Canada). My travel day involves changing planes and going through Customs in Toronto. Total elapsed time for travel is about 8 hours. Does anyone have a recommendation for a comfortable surgical or N95 mask that I can wear for an extended period? I am considering double masking with surgical masks for at least part of the trip.

We fly frequently and are not nutty about Covid. The Airlines however, seem to have become pretty lax lately. They make plenty of announcements about how to wear your mask, though when I get on a plane, I carry a large drink with a straw and wear my mask that has a cord around my neck. As soon as I sit down, I pull my mask down, hold my drink in one hand and sip it occasionally the entire trip. It makes for such a more enjoyable trip and they've never said a word to me about it. I'd suggest getting a mask that has a cord that goes around your neck.

Flight I was on a couple weeks ago the attendants made a point during their announcement to describe the exact the thing you were doing and state that “it was not acceptable”. The attendant then made a point of saying to everyone that they do not enjoy having to enforce the rules and to please be nice to them and not try and abuse things like eating or drinking.

Just wear your mask. It’s not a long time. And the hard working flight attendants appreciate it. They just don’t say anything to you because they are tired of having to argue with people.

I just want a comfortable mask.

Another vote for Canada Strong - we all (DH, myself and my grade 7 boys) use the adult large and DD14 who has a slightly smaller face uses the Mediums. We wore them all day long in Florida over Christmas and my 3 kids wear them all day at school. Very comfortable and a great fit.
