We've seen the movie tons of times, and watched the special features, and there is one effect we can't figure out how they did it.

When Mary Poppins gives the kids, and herself, the medicine, and it is different colors. I had always thought they colored it in post production, but Karen Dotrince said it was a practical effect, and it suprised her!

The three doses are poured in one shot, and Julie Andrews does not rotae the bottle at all, so it isn't a segmented bottled.

Anyone know?

I just watched the clip, and she does tip the bottle a little bit backwards between pourings, so that could enable some sort of switch in the bottle, or you can't really see the color of the liquid coming our of the actual bottle, so maybe the spoons are treated with something so it creates a color when the liquid hits it. Or it's just Disney MAGIC and we'll leave it at that :wizard:
