Marvel Discussion Thread!

I Am What I Am said:
According to the comics, Nick Fury. I believe the MCU says that Howard Stark either created it or was instrumental in its founding, though I'm not 100% sure.

That would make sense on all counts

To be fair, we didn't know from the beginning this would become as big as it did. But now it's huge, its involving so many things now, it had become its own story. It barely has any connection to the camp now. Its your thread, and I think its kind of bad that the Avengers has taken over your thread, so please let us take our Avengers stuff out so you can have your threaf back. I was going to have new characters in the camp thread after we pulled the Avengers out anyway.

I don't want to fight about this, but I will stick by my opinion.

It's ok. Sure, I guess you can remove them.

They are making a Peggy Carter show next year. Hopefully they'll focus on it there :)

That would be fantastic. I hope it's greenlit.

A Doctor Strange movie has also apparently been confirmed, and there's rumors about Black Panther and Ms. Marvel movies which I am ALL for

Yay, everything is happy now! Let's all just draw unicorns! Sorry I didn't talk about wether they should be moved or not, I'd be fine either way and I don't want people sad, that's just the kinda person I am, and I didn't really have an opinion. I'm just going with the flow here. :)

That's cool.

However, I am an English Major, Minoring in either Paralegal Studies or Creative Writing

And am I the only one who doesn't like Natalie Portman's portrayal of Jane Foster?

yeah it's for 9-12th grade girls and i'm sophomore with a International Tourism major with a minor in dramaturgy otherwise i'd totally be all over this because i LOVE science.

i liked it, but i also thought it was a little...flat. i hope they give her some more/better material in Thor 2

I'm a junior in high school(I take the PSAT this month and the SAT and ACT in June and I have my majors and minors already planned out. Im overachieving) and I lke science but I had a hard time in chemistry last year, am currently having a hard time in physics, and get nasuas when it comes to anatomy.

She just seems...kind of dumb/dependant. I mean, shes supposed a brilliant scientist for crying out loud!

But a Thor movie doesnt need a love interest anyway, not when you can play off the family and have nine realms and multiple gods to work with. Just my opinion.

*Cough*And the fact that Thor is mine*Cough* but they really should do more about the gods and realms. She should act smarter too.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Jane.

That program is really neat! I wished I liked science and math more.

i disagree. we're repeatedly shown examples of her brilliance. her very first scene involves her research. her primary driving force in the movie is her desire to understand exactly what is going on, as it's proof that she's right. also i never got "dependant" from her. Socially awkward, sure. but not dependant.

lots of movies dont "need" a love interest, but i think in this case it was needed. Focusing on his family and the nine realms and all would be interesting but Jane was the primary force for Thor's reformation. By getting closer to her, he grew to understand and care about the Earth and humanity as a whole, because Jane was his primary introduction to humanity. Without Jane, Thor would still be the arrogant, reckless and war-hungry person he was in the beginning of the film.

Okay, we have a few major surprises in Luke's plan but I'll give you guys the basics.

Luke knows that the keys are somewhere in the camp, and they will probably be found in action, not when people are sitting around, so he needs to stir up things. He takes Brittianna, Eric, and Amber (if that's okay with you guys) captive and goes to the tricarrier to cause problems. He also wants some tech in the tricarrier that will transport Loki back to earth to help him. This is most of what we have, and could easily happen tomorrow in RP time.
