Martini Tasting- Reviews or comments

We did the tequila tasting also. You got a shot of Jose Cuervo, a shot of Patron (much better), a classic margarita and a strawberry margarita I think. I don't think I could have passed a sobriety test after that one. It was hard to tell the difference between the rocking of the ship or if it was just me.:rotfl2:

This was the beer tasting. They had a save half of one to put in the Guinness for a Black n' Tan. I found out I am not a fan of Guinness.

For the tequila tasting, they served them in stages so I couldn't get a pic of all of them. Besides, tequila is my drink of choice so I knew those wouldn't sit around long. LOL. We had 3 shots then 2 margaritas.

Wine tasting, as you can see 3 whites and 3 reds. This was on the Med repo so they were all European wines. I like my Napa Valley wines better.

Good thing we were on the ship for 14 nights. We needed some time to recover from each tasting.

Hey Lynn...Imagine finding you here! We did the tequila one on our last cruise...I wasn't a fan. I love marguerita's but we only got one regular mini marg...and the rest were all straight shots of different tequila's. I can't do shots. (although line up the mixed margueritas and I'll drink anyone under the table) :lmao:
Our first cruise I wanted to do the wine tasting and missed it. When we told tour waitress in Palo's , they did a little mini version right at our table, gave us the wine tasting pins that were being given at the time, and didn't charge us a thing!!! WOO HOO!! (I am a true wine lover...especially Merlot and Cab.
I have never had a martini in my life...so I am very curious....but am fearful it will be like the Tequila one! We can sign up together and if I can't drink em...I'll pass them your way! See you back on the OCt 18th Thread! Diane

I signed up and they cancelled the tequila tasting. I'm happy that I didn't do the tequila tasting now. I like marguetitas but I wouldn't like straight tequilla.

I almost did the beer tasting but from what others told me it wasn't worth the time or the money. Maybe we'll try it on the next cruise. Other than Guiness (which I've tried and don't care for) are they're any interesting beers to try or are they just run of the mill beer.

We did the wine tasting also and I thought it was very informative for someone (like me) who knew nothing about wine. I later learned you get similar lessons for free during the Studio Sea cooking presentations but you get very small amounts and not as wide a selection.

The martini tasting is a great way to find out if you like a martini. I would have never tried some of what I tasted because they are so expensive to throw away if you really didn't like it. The flavored martinis are really strong but they're very good. I wasn't fond of the gin martini and even disliked it more after you make it a dirty martini but I'm glad I can say I've tried one. It's great to know they switch around the martinis if they do more than one tasting on the same cruise. There are so many flavors of martinis I would love to try more different ones. We also were lucky to have a great host and group. It was a lot of fun.

That's it? Regular old bottom shelf Jose Cuervo? Not even like the 1800 Silver or any Herradura or anything?! Bummer... I thought that one might be all different shots?!

Will they do the Martini tasting on the Wonder this summer on the double dips? We don't have a sea day!? I LOVE Lemon Drops and Appletini's....I have officially decided that with snacks / appetizers available I can handle 6 of them before I have to sit down!:rotfl2:

If I do it again I will bring snacks. We left no alcohol behind, even the gin martini we didn't like was gone. Thats a lot of alcohol in a short time. Getting ready for dinner was interesting and I was no longer hungry. Snacks would have been good. Next time I'll stop in Diversions or hit Deck 9 for snacks to bring with us.

I had a good time, but I made sure I ate a little before I went and I don't think I finished any of the martinis, as I didn't want to be falling over (which I would have been). They're little, but they pack a punch! I did come home with the pomegranate recipe, which I've made and they're a big hit.

Could you post the pomegranate recipe? That's one they never did in any I've been to.

Forgot to take the pic before I dove in to the blue one. I don't even remember what it was, but it was good.

We started out with a classic martini (vodka and gin). They told us to save some of it and they turned it into a dirty martini (classic with olive juice added...yuck). We then had the blue one followed by the Washington Apple (red). The final and best was the Chocotini.

This picture made my day. I have been sober since May 07. (Had a baby, still nursing) We are crusing in October of 08 and I'm sure my new nick name will be Drunk Mama.
Cheers!!!

We did it with a group and they had brought several bags of doritos for everyone to share at the tequila tasting.

I am so jealous! This sounds so fun. We picked the wine tasting on our last cruise and it totally sucked. The wine was cheap and awful and the presentors were condescending and arrogant. My husband and I know a thing or two about wine and we learned nothing new at the tasting. Next time, we are signing up for the martini tasting!

Although I do like alcohol, I am a bit fussy, I do not like red wine or sweet white. I hate guines, yuk, I have never tasted tequila, I think I might stick to the martinis because at least they look pretty! Thanks everybody, you have all really helped and got me thinking. All they photos were great.

I did the martini tasting once on the Magic and loved it. My real treat now is going to Sessions and working my way through the martini menu - one a night though! They are SO good. Cove cafe also have a few - didn't like the one with tea in it.
