Marthon Training thread for 7/4-7/10

Well, I'm still having trouble staying OP this week (willpower where are you?), but I have walked three times this week for a half hour each time. Now I just have to buy a padlock for the fridg and I'll be all set.
 
oh goodie! i just love surprises and I knew you all would LOVE yours from mom :) isn't she just the sweetest:wave2:

tonight i'm going to try to get out a walk a couple miles, I'm not sure that i'll get my jog/walk in tomorrow morning. I would have to be out of bed by 6 a.m. and ummmm........................

I did email mom that we'll plan on a 6 mile walk on Saturday!
 
I was up early this AM but decided to hem a couple pair of pants so I did accomplish something early on:p

Got a work out at Curves and stayed OP now for 3 days and am feeling better - didn't get ohMom's email yet about a 6 mile walk on Sat but that sounds good to me ::yes::

I am so glad that the "surprise" is doing just what I had hoped it would do - motive and inspire us to keep up the good work - it is a big help to me to know that I have a great group out there working towards the same goal! WTG everyone!!!

Ashley, I will get the info I have collected now too forwarded to you and maybe it will help fill in some of your blanks for the roster.

Have a good weekend everyone - personally - I am glad that it is Friday tomorrow - course it always makes me smile when we get a visit from DD, and our wonderful DGD's! I think the hamsters are making the trip too, Chloe and Tilly:p

I got in my 45 min. walk again with my friend while our DDs were at dance class. We must have walked faster tonight then we did Tues. night because we went a little farther in the same amount of time!

Has anyone else realized that 6 months from tomorrow is the big day! Keep walking everyone and we will be so ready!

Hi all! I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning and was unable to walk but I thought of everybody and I walked for an hour this evening.

Beth- I am praying for you and your family, you did great by not going to the border. It is one of my favs, too!

Six months from tomorrow! Yeah!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
 
I decided it was time to kick it into gear this morning. I walked four miles! I haven't done that for months (before I got sick...I feel much better now). I'm still no speed demon, and I have a long way to go, but I am doing a 20 minute mile instead of my previous 25 minute one. I really don't have a problem with long distances...I probably could have walked longer..it's just my speed that I'm worried about. Oh well, I'll keep working on it, as long as I keep ahead of that bus in January I'll be happy.
 
Morning everybody! Have to check in quick as I need to leave for work in 6 mins and am not dressed yet! BUT, I did a 30 min walk this morning, swam last night and have been 100% on my eating plan for four days now.....does this mean the slump is over ???
I'm doing 30 mins on the treadmill at work at lunch, so I'll have put in one hour today.....and if work messes with that plan, I'll do 30 mins in the pool tonight.


I have a wonderful weekend get-a-way NEXT weekend, so it's been easy to turn away for the bad stuff now...knowing I get one wonderful meal next Sat. (Have you noticed when you dine at a high-end restaurant, it's often easier to eat on plan....fresher food...more accomodation chef?) When I have time (tonight I hope) I'll post a link to the B&B we're staying at in Sedona....it's sooooo beautiful. Then in Aug I have a one day hop-over to Coronado Island. I'm finding that little mini trips (or big vacations ::yes:: ) seem to be the best motivators for me. I can pass on a temptation, knowing I'll have some kind of special treat in a few weeks time. Another motto for me? Let's see, "No thank you, I'd rather have a Zebra Dome!" ::yes::

I walked 2 miles on Tuesday and have not walked since, swam a bit but not enough to call exercise;) I willlllll walkkkk todayyyyy!

Hi all! I walked for 60 minutes then did about ten minutes of weight training. My legs are hurting a bit.

Tw1nsmom- I am currently doing a 20 minute mile myself right now. And I agree with you as long as I am ahead of the bus I will be happy also.
 
This morning I started doing some weight training again. I did a short upper body tape and a short abs tape. I only got in about a 20 min. walk/jog tonight but because I knew I didn't have much time I really made sure I was walking fast and I tried doing a little more jogging too.

Lets keep moving everyone!

I made it to the double digits today! I ran 10 miles! :cool1:
And the best part is, it felt good! I think aliens abducted my "real" body and replaced it a "jockette" body!

Beth, sorry to hear about everything your family is going through. Try to take care of yourself, you deserve it and you'll be better able to help them.

I've gotten too far behind to catch up with everyone! :o

I walked three miles today and have stayed OP for two days! I feel like I'm finally on a positive trend.

I just got back from my 50 min mall walk and will be heading out shortly for a pedicure. A nice treat for tired feet!
My walk conveniently ended at the Disney Store......imagine that!
I bought a pink "property of Tink's gym" t-shirt ($6) to wear on my walks and have by my 'official' exercise shirt.

I managed to get out and walk just a lttle less than an hour today. It was less than I had planned, but at least I managed to get out there!! Our heat index is supposed to be 113 today. Glad I got out early!!

I've had a great day so far! I walked 4 miles in an hour and 15 minutes (still not great, but five minutes faster than Friday). Dh left an early B-day gift for me (b-day is next Sunday) on the kitchen table...a new MP-3 player with some of my favorite songs programed in. He said it was my new walking buddy. After I was finished walking DH made me eggs, turkey bacon and coffee for breakfast. He's the greatest, so supportive (remind me of this when I'm feeling witchly and complaining). Next week, on my actual b-day, I'm going to a spa with my mom to get massages and facials. Dh is cooking me dinner and Mom is babysitting so that the two of us can go to a movie.

ibouncetoo: I was feeling jealous about your fabulous trip until I realized how many great things I had going on. I hope you have as much fun on your trip as I hope to have at the spa.

trola2: You're a better person than me. I could never handle walking in that kind of heat. I go out at 6:30 am so that I'm done before it gets much past 70 or 75. Good job getting out there!

LAWalz23: We can bring up the rear (so to speak) together!

Pixichick: Running 10 miles...Wow! I think I tried to run 10 yards today and I thought I was going to pass out. I'll have to stick to walking for a while.

today I took a bike ride (40 mins) as yesterday mom and I walked 6 miles. that was a nice accomplishment.

not much time here -- just popping in to try and read all the absolutely inspiration words you all post!!!
 
I walked three miles this morning before it got hot. I will try to walk some more tonight, but it is raining right now. I am happy because I went shopping today and was able to buy a size M belt. It is the little things that help me stay motivated. Now if someone in my house would just finish the last cup cake already! :)
