Hi friends! I just got a call from "MDE" saying I won a vacation. Yeah right - it's a timeshare visit. Anyhoo - they said we could have 4 trips - 1) Orlando; 2) Bahama Cruise on Royal Carribbean; 3) Mexico - Cancun or Puerto Vallerta (sorry for spelling) and 4) Las Vegas.

She said at least a 30 minute tour (guessing it's WAYYYYYYYY longer than that).

$698 for our family of 3 total for all the trips. Only getting 1 day Disney passes for 2 adults.

The company is Getaway Dreams.

Anyone ever do this????? Too good to be true, right??? Any info or thoughts, please share. Thank you!

Don't do it.
It's not Marriott. They don't offer that type of tour. It will end up costing you more than you think.

Thank you!!! Won't be doing this......thanks for the feedback! They made it sound like they were Marriott......right there is a huge red flag for me!

I did a quick Google search and "getaway dreams" did not have any hits related to tours.

We did a couple of these timeshare tours when our kids were young. Both times were extremely stressful and high pressure, not the way we want to spend time on our vacation. Not worth it all!

yeah...not a good sign if they were trying to make you believe they were another company.... probably too good to be true!

I did do a Marriott offer in K'Olina Hawaii a few years ago but it was mailed to me. Great deal and low pressured and we stayed at that Marriott property.

I received a similar call from the Hilton timeshare company (I don't remember the specific name). They were offering me 3 or 4 nights at the Hilton located in DTD for $149 as long as I went on their tour. I kept telling the woman I wasn't interested and she kept persisting I take advantage of this great deal. I am polite so I didn't want to just hang up on her. So finally I told her that I really have to get off the phone now as my kids need my attention. She took the hint and gave up.

Anyway, I wouldn't take their deal. As if they can be so persistent over the phone, who knows what they are like in person. And if you do decide to buy their timeshare, you will be paying for that trip several times over plus maintenance fees until you die.

I am not against timeshares. I am a DVC owner who bought resale after years of thinking about it. However, I am against being pressured into something that you weren't even thinking about purchasing in the first place.
