Dh and I are taking the four kids DD16, Ds16, Ds14 and DD12 to Universal in April. We are staying at the Marriott Residence Inn by Seaworld and was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the place. We always stay at Marriotts....well most of the time anyway. DH thought we had a two bedroom suite and hopefully this has two bathrooms!

If anyone can give me anything about this place that would be great!!

We stayed there last year for 2 nights. We drove to FL from Chicago and needed a couple days to unwind before we went to WDW. We loved that hotel - its beautiful, we didn't get too much swimming in because Tropical Storm Alberto decided to pay us a visit. But in between the downpours, every one was running out to the pool. The free b-fast is great, they have a Pizza Hut as their "poolside restuarant", they also serve burgers and a great Ceasar Salad. We didn't leave the property for the whole 3 days. The pool is zero depth and plenty of chairs - they have a volleyball court too.

Our upcoming July 2007 trip, we are flying this year, so we are going straight to WDW via ME, then after we leave WL, we are staying at the Marriott RI, Seaworld for 2 nights and continuing our trip on to South Florida.

The kids wouldn't have it any other way.

Hi Cindy's Mom! Sounds great!! I can't wait to go. This past April we stayed at the Mariott Village and love that place too.
Just want to know what you mean by the pool being zero depth?? Do they have a hot tub right out by the pool? Thats where I like to rest my sore body after a hard day at the park....I keep calling the kids out of the pool to crank the 15 minute timer.....after about a hour....I'm nice and relaxed!!!:rotfl2:

Zero depth is where you walk right into the pool (just like walking into the ocean) and it gets deeper as you go out. (do you know what I mean), cuz that really doesn't sound like it make sense.

Yes, they do have a hot tub out at the pool.

I don't know if there are 2 baths w/ the 2BR suite. We just did the one bedroom suite.

I can't say it enough how much we enjoyed that place (Alberto and all)

Ahhh I see, I understand. Nice!
From what I have heard though, is that the elevators are at the other end of the hallways and not near the lobby....is this true?

Yes its true - but not as dramatic as TripAdvisor says. We we a coule doors off the elevator and then just walk down a hallway (normal hotel sized hallway) and you are in the lobby.

Remember, these are not Disney hotels with 2500 rooms, there is only maybe 200-300 rooms at this hotel, so its not an obnoxious walk.

Thank you Cindy's Mom, you have been a great help.
I'm actually glad its not a property hotel. I stayed at one in July and I would MUCH rather stay off property, have my own car and not have to wait in lines for busses!! We stayed op in April and like it much better!! Of course this trip we are doing Universal and not Disney but no matter, I like staying off prop.

Thanks again for your help!!
