We are flying in LAX on May 22 and driving down to the San Diego area to do Sea World and Legoland. Can anyone rec a good Marriott to saty Fri/Sat/Sun nights? It needs to be a Marriott since I have so many points to use up!

PS - I have a 6 ds, 4ds, and 3 dd so I need a kid friendly place.

Anything else to do in that area while we are there? On that Monday (Memorial Day) we are driving up to DL.

Thanks in advance for any input.

We stayed at the Residence Inn (owned by Marriott) Carlsbad (on Faraday) with points. We chose to upgrade to the 2BR unit for some extra points. It is within 5 minutes of Legoland and probably 15-20 for Seaworld (we stayed somewhere else on our seaworld night). The RI is in an area with some small office parks and has a little strip center nearby with lots of fast casual type places (subs, pizza, chinese type stuff). There is a Costco a few minutes away if you want to stock up on water, etc. They had a nice pool area and a sports court (you can check out balls at the front desk) which was great for my kids to burn off energy. The breakfast buffet was very good and they keep out coffee and a fruit bowl all the time which was good for kiddo snacking. The rooms also have a kitchen and they give you microwave popcorn each day. I'm not sure how new it is but the building and furnishings were all modern and kept up nicely. Carlsbad is a nice little area. On one of our evenings in Carlsbad we drove about 15 mins to Oceanside and walked on the beach and the pier there. There was a movie theatre and lots of little shops and restaurants. We ate at a place called Pasta Mia which is on restaurant.com and it was excellent. Carlsbad also has a beach area but we didn't check it out. We really liked the RI and the extra room so we were'nt all stuck together in one tiny area.

On Monday I hope you are planning to drive up to DL early in the day (before noon) - traffic going north on the last day of a long weekend can get really bad.
