Marriott Horizons Pirate pool closed in Jan

Booked a room here mainly for the pool attractions for our kids. Found out on my own when looking at other hotel sites and saw the Horizons note by accident. Nice of Marriott to simply not inform their guests. Just the pirate boat pool is closed, the rest of the pools will be open. Now the decision, to cancel or stay. Besides Disney resorts, can anyone recommend another resort with a nice heated pool for kids..NOT the NICK HOTEL PLEASE.

How old are your kids? The pirate pool honestly was more for the under 5 set.

The other pool is far more prefferable for my crew. there is a wonderful water play area. and zero entry and water slide. also shooting water cannons from a fort like tower. Also dumping buckets from the towers.
My boy's are 8,8, and 14. We have been going there since they were almost 6and 12.

My kids are 5 and 8. Thanks for your feedback. So in your opinion even though the pirate boat is closed kids will still have a fun time with the other water attractions? And from reading your post it looks like you have enjoyed staying there, it will be my first time.

Bonnet Creek is also very nice. It's right next to the Caribbean Beach Resort. So...it's pretty much "onsite" but not technically since it's not owned by Disney.

They have a nice lazy river pool which the kids would love in addition to two other pools...one with a slide.

If you want to stay with Marriott, their Grande Vista resort is also beautiful with nice pools.

You could try Marriott's Grande Vista. While the pools aren't themed as much towards children as the pirate pool at Horizon's, they are still great. There are four of them. If you are an II member or know one, you can probably pick up a 2BR for a week for around $429.
The other pool at Horizon's is also great and has a large water play area. The large slide is also at this pool and it also has zero entry
