We were there during the last week of October. It is a beautiful resort. The condo that we stayed in was a very large 2 bedroom. We were on the other side of the bridge where the newest buildings are. For me to get to the main building it was about 5 minutes of a walk away.
In the main building there is: front desk, guest services, fitness room (looked awesome), arcade, play area (ball pit for the babies under 3 and large jungle gym type set for those over 3).
Inbetween the main building and the next there is a large brick open air corridor (if you want to call it that) where there are several tables with umbrellas set up.
In the building right next to the main building: is the counter service Pizza Hut ~ you can also get ice cream there, and a small market/store ~ where you can get groceries, coffee, Krisy Kreme donughts, souveniers, etc. On the other side of the corridor is one of the main pools. It was very nice (we didn't use this one so I can't tell you much about it.
On the lake side of these buildings is a place to play ping-pong, a dock to get the swan paddle boats, a bar, and a beach area with lounge chairs and a volleyball net.
We did not go to Nick's to eat so I can't tell you about that.
We were not pressured to take the tour at all, although we did anyway. They gave us a $75 Walt Disney World gift certificate. When we set up the tour, the lady that we spoke to said that we had several choices, but we wanted the g.c. The tour was very long, but that is because we did it jointly with my parents. They had to treat us like 2 different tours. As soon as we said no, our guide was done with us. No pressure at all. My parents ended up buying (they already own 2 other Marriott's so it wasn't a hard sell for the guy).
It takes about 15 minutes to get to any of the WDW theme parks. You are the closest to Downtown Disney. Sea World is literally around the corner from MGV.
There is a Publix just around the corner also.
The only place close to the resort that we ate was a place called Flippers. We got carry out pizza from there and it was pretty good. There were no complaints. Guest services has a huge binder of all of the places they recommend to eat at.
The Premier Outlets were not even 5 minutes away from the resort.
Oh, and I don't know how true this is, but our sales rep during the tour said that you can request an early check in. We didn't and had to wait until 4 to get into our room. We did request a first floor new or refurbished building, and close to a pool (we got all of our requests).
If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know.
