Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

I'm so glad you guys liked SB- we have so many happy memories there from when our kids were small and would just play & play in the sand- :lovestruc. And someday...when Henry wants to go on the slide....well, that's where all our memories are made now. So FUN!!! My kids think it is by far the best hotel slide EVAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!! :goodvibes The whirlpool is fun, too.

I'm hoping to spend LOTS of time in that pool this November! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update----I love it!! Just relaxing at WDW--thats a hard one for me too;) I feel like we should be moving at all times. My DH on the other hand, would have loved to lay in a lounge chair at SAB. It really looks amazing. Henry looks like he could have spent the whole vacation there! I think Alexa will love having her own mug on our next trip too! I believe she will take the PINK one--just a guess:lmao: Cant wait for the next installment!! Im a bit concerned about your stroller:scared1: I am always fearful to hear of strollers missing...I hope you have it!!!

Yeah, Brook!! You found your "motivation"!! Did someone on FB find it for you?

Nothing could be finer than the sand, sun, and a few palm trees.:cloud9: Not to mention a happy little boy and a happy hubby. I do get the whole, "it's hard for me to sit still and relax without anything to do" feeling. But it was probably good for you. And truthfully, you didn't do "nothing". You were taking pictures!

SAB is the one pool that can make me want to put on a swimsuit!! I'm not much for swimming especially since I burn so easy, but that pool is so wonderful!!!! I'm looking forward to having more time to spend there!!!!

Loved all the pictures of Henry playing in the sand! You could tell that little boy was having the best time ever!!! I can't wait to hear more!!!

BTW in case you haven't been counting...26 days until first ride on HM EVER with the world's most obsessed fan of HM LOL!!!

Aw..looks like it was a fun time at SAB! You got me wanting to stay there sometime now!

I'm all caught up! What an adorable little boy! I'm glad I'm not the only creeped out by the clown slide at BW.

Great update, Brook. SAB looks like so much fun (we hope to stay there next year). Henry sure is having a blast in the sand and the water. :goodvibes

Great update Brook! Henry looks like such a big boy, playing in the sand and having a blast. Sounds like it was a really fun afternoon. Toes in sand sounds like bliss right about now. :goodvibes SAB looks so fun! Maybe we can rent points there someday.

My kids (though 6 and nearly 8) are also sand freaks. I can totally see them LOVING SAB just for the sand play alone.

Whenever we go to AK they want to park it in the Boneyard pit and stay there so long they go extinct in there themselves...we have to drag them out so we can go on rides! :rotfl2: That's just nuts!!

CBR doesn't really appeal to us and the Poly is out of our price range but we could totally afford to rent points and stay at the BC and hang out in the sand at SAB for the entire DAY if we wanted and not worry about wasting valuable park time.

Yet again Brook, your TR has given me vital information for planning my future trips!

THANKS!!

What a lovely afternoon, Brook!! SAB does indeed look absolutely perfect, except that even it has potential to make things go missing- like stuff and strollers. Sneaky cliffhanger there, girl! ;)

I agree with you in that I am not a big fan of the water slides though we are visiting the water parks on our September trip. I plan to lounge in a chair and read during most of the day! :cool1:

I love the pics of SAB - it looks amazing! :lovestruc How great is the view you got from your lounger - that looks soo relaxing!

I am drooling looking at those pictures. And, servers that bring you food and drinks. Now we are talking:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We usually stay at Bonnet Creek or a Moderate. Every time I say we are going to go Deluxe, but then when that quote comes back I get dizzy:rotfl2:

Cue: Little boy shrieking.

Yep, there's the sand.

That first photo seized me. Gorgeous. I think I actually gasped. Then I sighed & just stared, for what must have been a minute at least. Quite possibly, I drooled a tiny bit. But I'm glad I pressed on, bcz those shots of Henry digging in the sand were so sweet. I was sad for him when I noticed the shadows getting longer. I knew it would be getting cooler out. And hungrier. And there must be an end to this idyllic moment. Ah, well, no to worry. There will be more visits!

Oh-so-exciting to have your first client heading off soon! Congratulations! It must feel amazing to help others experience the Magic, especially for the first time. And I'm sure you've thanked Joe already for his invaluable help. :confused3 What help? Well, he has enlightened you about a different way to enjoy WDW. So you can be aware of & sensitive to clients' particular needs and preferences, and plan for THEM and not just for us go-go-go types. Anywho ... I'm sure it's lots of work, but extremely gratifying, I hope.

Looks like a beautiful day at SAB. I agree, you need to bring a book and put your feet in the sand. Therapy at it'S best.

SAB looks fab and Henry looks delighted to be playing in the sand :)

Every time I see a picture of SAB or the Boardwalk in general I just take a deep breath, hold it a little and then let it out slowly trying to "sniff up" the area. :cloud9:

Love SAB. Henry looks so happy. It is such a fun area! What wonderful weather you had for this outing.

It really is a great area, SAB is wonderful! The weather that first week was PERFECT. Our 2nd week got a tad more chilly as you will see.

Um...yeah...that looks heavenly, for sure! I am so excited! And, again, Brook...you take beautiful pictures. The pic of Henry lying in the water, with that beautiful smile...priceless. Thanks for all of your help tonight. :goodvibes

Thank you! All those pics were with my iPhone! It does some great work in good lighting. And your welcome on all the help-glad to do it! :goodvibes

SAB looks great!

I hate that I feel like I can't leave anything at my chair, for fear of it getting stolen, but I guess that's life in the big city.

I don't like that feeling either...it's frustrating. I want to bring things to the pool so I can snap pics/have things to use...but then there is always that fear. Next time when we STAY at the Beach Club we won't have that problem.

SAB looks great and love all the pics of Henry playing.

It really is a wonderful pool!

Aww Henry looks so happy and adorable playing in the sand, how fun that you guys were allowed to try out Stormalong Bay.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

I was thrilled to try out SAB. It's so unique and great! I look forward to staying there sometime so we can enjoy it again.

SAB does look great and Henry looks like he had a lot of fun! I really love the palm tree picture! I can't wait to see them in 51 days!

Henry could have slept in that sand! And I'm with ya on the palm trees-there is something about seeing them, isn't there?! I can't wait to see them again!!!! It always brings a smile to my face when I see them from the Fake Monorail at MCO!

The good life, indeed. :)

Such a pretty place. Our girls enjoyed Stormalong Bay, as well, as guests of Wigd and Shocker. The sand and the water without the seaweed, assorted sea creatures, and sometimes jagged shells is nice for the little ones. :thumbsup2

So true! Much less concern at the "Disney Beach" versus a real one. Though, even still...I just cannot wait for beach weather here!

I am glad you enjoyed SAB!

We absolutely loved it! We spent most of our time in the Lazy River.

Such gorgeous pictures I can't wait to be over at the Beach Club tomorrow for breakfast :cloud9:

Great update! I have no doubt Henry was the happiest boy on the planet digging in the sand :cutie:

The Lazy River is wonderful! We hit that up on another visit. :thumbsup2

You are in Epcot right now...and I gotta admit...I'm jealous! Loving your FB updates!

How fun you guys were able to play at SAB for a bit! Henry looks absolutely thrilled to be playing in the sand! I'd probably start to get a bit antsy as well, but it's great you guys were able to hang out and relax awhile! I was all sad that we weren't able to use SAB during our last trip, it was just so freezing out!

That is a bummer about not getting to use SAB! So close and yet...:sad2: I really look forward to staying at the BC, but I insist it to be in a warm weather month-just to make sure we can use SAB!

Think of what they had for diapers then, and how many changes a day! It was easier to keep boys in dresses until they were changed!:rotfl:

Brook:
What a fab afternoon! It's a good thing you are now living on the east coast for your beach lovin' son!

That's a VERY good point about the diaper changes! Many of Henry's pajamas were like dresses when he was an infant - "sleep sacks" is what they called them. It helped with those bleary eyed middle of the night changes.

I am THRILLED to be close to the beach! I simply cannot wait for beach weather. We are already planning our first trip.

Love the update! SAB pool is amazing!

It is!! I didn't realize how BIG it was until we were in there.

Wow - I really hope our wait list comes through for BCV in November!!! The kids will absolutely love Stormalong Bay. I'm glad you guys got to check it out. Henry definitely looks like he loved it there!

I hope it comes through too! Your boys will love it! It's just huge and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

I'm hoping to spend LOTS of time in that pool this November! :thumbsup2

I've heard great things about that slide! I think I would be screaming all the way down since even little ones scare me. I definitely have to check out the whirlpool next time, we missed that!

Thanks for the update----I love it!! Just relaxing at WDW--thats a hard one for me too;) I feel like we should be moving at all times. It's so hard for me to slow down and just enjoy! Later in the trip I got better at it...but this was still early and I felt like we were missing everything. But, thankfully I was able to relax at least a bit and enjoy it. And yes, Henry could have spent the whole vacation there. After this day he asked to go back to the sand over and over and OVER! He couldn't care about the parks, he was all about that pool!

I'm hoping to get that stroller update done either tonight or this weekend...!
