Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Loving the updates!

I was wondering where you got the sandals Henry is wearing in the pics. I'm on the hunt for sandals for my boys.

Gap Kids! Henry LOVES them. We had the same pair last year in orange/gray and he was upset when we realized they were too small. We searched for a good pair of sandals, and even went to Gap Kids and didn't see them. I found another pair that was alright, so I asked for a size from the back and she returned with THESE! (there was also another color choice) Once Henry spotted them he was soooooo excited. It was hilarious! They must be pretty comfy! He wears them almost daily. I think they are around $25 (which is absurd for kids shoes IMO! I'm a cheapskate!), but he likes them and they lasted an entire year of being worn every single warm day....so it was worth the money. :goodvibes

What a great update! I'm glad to see that Henry's grumpy mood before dinner didn't last, it looks like you guys had a really fun evening. I've said it before, but pictures of Henry just make me smile, he's such a cutie :goodvibes

BEAUTIFUL pics from Easter!

Lovely updates! Sounds like a wonderful Easter and Mother's Day. I loved your spring pictures, it is such a pretty time of the year and your pictures show that even in cities spring can be beautiful. :goodvibes

The flying blankies name is very funny and it is cute to see how much Henry knows what he wants to do and to explore.

I enjoyed the evening in Magic Kingdom. Tomorrowland at night looks cool with all the lights on. Buzz is one of Brooklynn's favorites, too.

We are doing a unit on Symbols of America in my Social Studies classes. After we talked about the Statue of Liberty, I showed a short video of New York. They showed some places that were famliar to me from previous books, TV, videos, pictures, etc., but now that I have seen them in your pictures, they take on a new familiarity. I told the kids I have friends who live right there, and they were impressed. Thanks for sharing your city with us. I enjoy them as a DIS buddy and as a teacher.

Another lovely update. The people mover is such a great chillout :thumbsup2 Also I love the pictures of central NY, wow, I'm hoping to make a visit to NY next year :goodvibes Your photos are persuading me even more :woohoo:

Hello Tink!!!! :yay:

 about the "Where's Waldo" game. I so wish I woulda just shouted "TINK!" despite how I appeared at that moment...hopefully our paths will cross again. I see you have two pretty tickers!

I wish you had! I so do! It would've been worth it despite what you looked like. It would have been BF's first DISMeet. He probably would've been all shy. I do have a couple of trips on the books. One will definitely be pre-tripped. Keep your eyes out.

Oh, and in the vein of "you learn something new every day", DVC'rs can pick and choose their dining plans by day?! I kinda LOVE that. Ahhhh....DVC....someday. In the meantimes, points rentals only. ::sigh::

My score

Thank you to the DIS that I know where a few big point targets are! ;)

All three of us enjoy this ride. It's such a relaxing and entertaining ride gliding above Tomorrowland.

how do you get such a high score????? i get maybe 8,000

I also like the people mover.. when we went this past Feb Space Mountain was closed down and the lights were on inside. The kids loved to be able to see what it looked like lit up

Can you believe I've never been on the people mover. I need to make time to do it.

Beautiful NYC pics. You had beautiful weather... and what's better than a cupcake?..nothing.. well 2 cupcakes lol

Looks like such a fun evening. I had no idea there was camel spit involved in the flying carpets ride. No wonder kids love it!

I am so glad spring has finally sprung (except for the allergies!). Love all your NYC pics!

I need to know the tips for Buzz! I never score well at all on that ride. I love that you get Henry's picture with Zurg every trip.

I didn't get any pictures of me with the kids on Mother's day either if it makes you feel any better. ;)

Aww, look at all those cute kids at the egg hunt!! :goodvibes

The NYC pictures are great. Is that a magnolia tree? We have one of those in our front yard and it's starting to open up. So pretty!

Great update Brook! I love those pictures of the flying carpets!!! So neat with all the colors blurring by:goodvibes
And that picture of the brownstone with the yellow flowers---enter that in a photo contest---PLEASE:goodvibes That is one amazingly beautiful photo:thumbsup2
I understand about the busy life and schedule. Cant wait to put all that craziness on hold soon!!! Counting down with ya:cloud9:

Lovely Easter and Mother's Day pictures. And I just had to say that I :love::love: Magnolia Bakery...one the few places in this life that has truly lived up to the hype.

Love your update! I can honestly say I have lived though almost every one of those moment. The only exceptions were we needed to get a pink elephant and Jack wanted to get "spit on" himself. :rotfl:

I really enjoy the Central Park pictures. I haven't really spent much time in central park but have always wanted too. I was in my teens and early 20's when I lived near or in NYC. It was more of a shopping and nightlife place for me way back then.

Oh and I'm pretty sure those are Cherry Blossom trees.

BEAUTIFUL pics from Easter!

We did have a great evening! It was PM EMH and we were LOVING it. Henry was full of energy with his full tummy!

Thank you on the compliment about H! :goodvibes

The flying blankies name is very funny and it is cute to see how much Henry knows what he wants to do and to explore.

Spring is my favorite month here in NYC I think. After the cold winter the City suddenly comes alive again with people and flowers everywhere. It's so beautiful!!

This trip Henry VERY much had an opinion about rides and what we did! Sometimes we should have not asked his opinion and just went forward...but, we didn't learn that trick until almost the end of the trip.

I enjoyed the evening in Magic Kingdom. Tomorrowland at night looks cool with all the lights on. Buzz is one of Brooklynn's favorites, too.

I love all the neon in Tomorrowland at night. Just like DHS, it's all glowy and pretty.

That is very cool about showing your kids New York! If you ever need ANYTHING from here for that sort of thing-let me know! I'd be more than happy to send you a Statue of Liberty hat (), a picture, anything! This City has so much rich history, it's amazing. The architecture downtown by Wall Street is so beautiful.

Another lovely update. The people mover is such a great chillout :thumbsup2 Also I love the pictures of central NY, wow, I'm hoping to make a visit to NY next year :goodvibes Your photos are persuading me even more :woohoo:

The Peoplemover is such a nice relaxing ride! I love just gliding along up there, staring out at it all.

If you come to NYC let me know! I'd be more than happy to send you any info/help.

I wish you had! I so do! It would've been worth it despite what you looked like. It would have been BF's first DISMeet. He probably would've been all shy. I do have a couple of trips on the books. One will definitely be pre-tripped. Keep your eyes out.

I know...:sad2: regrets! Regrets! Joe still acts a bit shy (though, he naturally is), during DIS meets.

I will be watching for that PTR! If you start it, feel free to plug it here so I don't miss it!

YES! The pick and choose dining plan is a fairly new perk for DVCers and it's awesome. So, so nice. There is a tiny bit of hassle with it and the key cards, but overall-the savings is worth it, IMO. You should qualify for it still even with point rentals too!

how do you get such a high score????? i get maybe 8,000

I also like the people mover.. when we went this past Feb Space Mountain was closed down and the lights were on inside. The kids loved to be able to see what it looked like lit up

There are a couple high point targets that I have found over the years - one is the top of the volcano in that first room. There is a target there and I immediately hit it as many times as I can. Another spot, in that same first room is the rotating circle thing on top of the exit door. You can only get it when you first come into the room and have the right angle. :thumbsup2

Doesn't Space Mountain look craZy with the lights on?!?! I've seen it from the Peoplemover and I've been on Space when it broke down-which was a fun, and slightly bizarre, experience.

Can you believe I've never been on the people mover. I need to make time to do it.

Beautiful NYC pics. You had beautiful weather... and what's better than a cupcake?..nothing.. well 2 cupcakes lol

Yes you do! It's such a simple and unique ride! You'll enjoy it!

:rotfl2: about the 2 cupcakes! They have some delicious stuff there. Joe had a lemon bar and I think I had a cookie. The best thing I've had there is the red velvet cake. Oh my goodness. YUM!

Henry wants to add smilies --> :laundy:pirate::yay::happytv:

Hi, am reading your latest post first! Love all the pics of Henry and how much fun he was having during the Easter hunt!

Cool pics of Park Ave and Central Park! :thumbsup2 We were debating a trip to NY before Disney World but have decided to leave it this time round.

Back to your Trip update and yay for flying blankies!!! :rotfl2: Lol at Henry getting you on both rides!

Wow on the score on Buzz Lightyear - I def have to read up on some tips as am normally rubbish at shooting games!

What a great evening!! Got to love both Aladdin's carpets and Dumbo!! Love your pictures that you got, WOW!!!! Very nice!!!

I really love your picture on the Peoplemover of your feet!! How cute!!

YAY for such a high score on Buzz!!!

Can't wait to find out how you used your FP!!

Hmmmm....smores...next time make me one too LOL!

Great update. I love the feet picture on the peoplemover. So cute. It is too funny that Henry kept trying to squirt you with camel spit. :lmao:

Henry looks like he had a blast at the easter egg hunt! Fun times!!

Mmmmm, camel spit. My favorite! (yes, I actually DO know what it's like to be spit on by a camel.) NOT!! I'm glad it brought a good old belly laugh from Henry. Too bad you didn't see Mickey and Minnie during your Dumbo ride! That would have been a cool picture to get.

Feet pix- yay for feet pix! And for a high score on Buzz!
