Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

The attic.. well near the condiment bar there's a little staircase. It's small up there. There's maybe 6 tables?

I didn't even know about that! SO COOL! :thumbsup2

Well there are two, one for the hotel and one for the villas. We were at the villa one most of the time and much as I love the YC, the villa quiet pool beat it hands down, just a really really lovely setting! I don't like the location of the BC hotel quiet pool as much and the YC one was just meh for us, for some totally unrelated reasons to setting (other people that were there, overly warm water, etc).

Plus....you are less likely to get yelled at for drinking in the pool at the villa pool.

Not that any of us did that.

:rotfl:

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure! :rolleyes1 Were you all sporting your re-fillable mug??? ;)

YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3: We will have to have a DIS meet for sure!!!! We almost booked the 5-night to Canada in July too, but...we wanted the tropical climate. And Castaway Cay. And the day in WDW. It will be SO awesome! I'm a tad nervous about the heat as well-even for my upcoming girlfriends/solo trip...but like you said, it's just one day-we can do it! I've already started devising our plan of attack on the parks for that day. :rolleyes1

I just cannot wait to cruise. I keep hoping that for some crazy reason we get to go before June 2012 too. LOL! Just reading your TR and a few others on the cruises has me so so excited!

Did you see the Hawaiian cruise? That's my dream!

Yay for a DISmeet!!! It will be so neat to meet you, Joe & Henry. We have already thought about a plan of attack for the parks also. We want to start out at MK - go there till after lunch. Steve & Matt then might try to go to HS to hit up RnR and Shawn and I might head to AK to do EE since he is tall enough now. We will then end the night at Epcot. Not sure if we will do a sit down for dinner - I don't want to take up time but I love me some Cheddar Cheese soup and Mushroom Filet so we might have to do LeCellier. I also might have to head to the Poly to watch Wishes from the beach.

I guess we have plenty of time to figure out the plan!

Well looky looky who found Brook-y.

;)

I knew you'd have this TR up here somewhere and given our "almost" meet, ok, more like a "Where's Waldo" Tink-style game...which you won...I wanted to read about your adventures.

Going back to the beginning and looking forward to every word!

:flower3:

All caught up!!!!! I should have written notes but here goes....

Lexi loved the flying blankies too. She kept trying to get get spit on.:rotfl:

I follow Samantha Brown on twitter too and thought "Wow" when I read about the ice. Did you see she is Epcot today?

So frustrating to loose your stroller I am glad you found it though. I would be lost without my Mac.

Pictures of your very cute (and wet, on that day) little boy are over on our TR, in case you want to see them. I noticed in one of them that Henry was looking at Bella's little sprigs of hair sticking up as of she looked a little crazy.

I love it. I'm also adobting his name for the Castle. It's Mickey's House now! :)

 Henry, somehow, recently figured out the Castle belonged to Cinderella! I have NO idea how he figured this out, but one day he said "That's not Mickey's, it's a girl's!" :rotfl2: But...we still call it Mickey's even though we now know he doesn't live there. ;)

You are a step ahead of me! I haven't thought of ADRs (you know what I'll be doing tonight...) I was thinking we'd bus to DHS first (in hopes it's a shorter line in the morning at the port), then boat to Epcot, then wrap up the night at MK. We probably are too slow moving to get to all the parks.

I thought about Wishes from the beach too. Love that. I'm thinking MK will be VERY packed that night with normal guests and all us cruisers too! :scared1:

Hello Tink!!!! :yay:

 about the "Where's Waldo" game. I so wish I woulda just shouted "TINK!" despite how I appeared at that moment...hopefully our paths will cross again. I see you have two pretty tickers!

methinks you'll have to wait for the TR to see just what we did :rotfl:

I look forward to that TR!!!!!

Oh the camel spit. The #1 reason why the kids think the Flying Blankies are better than Dumbo. :rolleyes1 Henry found it HILARIOUS that the camel spit!

I haven't read my Twitter today - I will though!! I gotta hear what she's up to in Epcot!

Pictures of your very cute (and wet, on that day) little boy are over on our TR, in case you want to see them. I noticed in one of them that Henry was looking at Bella's little sprigs of hair sticking up as of she looked a little crazy.

:rotfl2: that is so funny! He has pointed out little girls with hair like that and said "She looks like Mickey Mouse!" I have to get back over to your TR - I meant to earlier today, but the minutes slipped right through my fingers.

i just can't wait for my disney trip

The wait is tortuous! I am not looking forward to the looooooooooooong wait after my solo trip. Ugh.

I can't wait till they come out with more details as to how they are going to get all of us off the bus and to WDW in an orderly fashion :)

One thing about the cruise that you may or may not have read but that I know you and Henry will love - you can get Mickey Bars every night for dessert and from room service.

We left off as we were leaving Fantasyland and heading toward the Flying Blankies (commonly known as the Magic Carpets of Aladdin) in Adventureland.

We went into the line, which was fairly short and Henry made a buddy.

1201862577_H4Tkv-L.jpg

Waiting in line was completely painless with the two of them entertaining each other, and us!

Soon enough we were ready to load

1201863638_MknFn-L.jpg

1201865164_c8E8V-L.jpg

Henry was quite inquisitive about this ride - asking all sorts of questions about how it worked and why there was water under it...he was pretty pumped to get his ride on!

It wasn't long...

1201866223_2aFdm-L.jpg

On our very first rotation around Henry just happened to have it lined up so the camel got me DIRECTLY in the side of my face, and naturally, I shrieked! This lead to peals of laughter from the front seat and it became Henry's mission to get me as much as he could!

I made it unscathed for the rest of the ride, but just before we landed the request was made to ride again...so we did!

This time H rode with me

1201875711_TxgJ3-L.jpg

and....he got me AGAIN! :rotfl:

1201876843_sAnFe-L.jpg

After two rides and two direct Mommy hits from the camel, this quickly became Henry's favorite ride of the trip. As time goes on in this report, you'll see how many times we rode...!

We got off our second ride on the Flying Blankies and Henry made a request for...........Dumbo. :rotfl2:

Do you find the irony in this? 1) We were JUST in Fantasyland and had suggested Dumbo, which he instantly shot down; and 2) How is Dumbo any different than the Flying Blankies?!?!? (Oh ya, a spitting camel...)

But, all well, we don't have an agenda! Let's go back to Fantasyland!

When we got to Dumbo the line was 20 minutes, which neither Joe nor I were too keen on...so we tried to suggest/bribe Henry on other things, but he wasn't having it. He said he didn't mind that the line was long - so in we went!

And really, the line moved pretty well, it didn't seem long at all and he was highly entertained by both people watching and his spinner toy we had brought.

1201881133_MCjLt-L.jpg

Eventually we were in the holding pen with just one family in front of us.

1201885172_QvwVJ-L.jpg

Henry had requested a BLUE Dumbo and the sweet family in front of us insisted that we go in first to ensure he got his blue Dumbo. :cutie:

Poser!

1201900268_Di8rq-L.jpg

We had a great flight! Dumbo is simple, but it's still so enjoyable. I have a fondness for these classic rides. I did try to spy on the new Fantasyland as we flew around, but couldn't see much. I figured we'd ride again later in the trip... :rolleyes1

As we got off the ride and made our way toward the exit, I saw a HUGE crowd of people laughing and smiling--turns out Mickey and Minnie were on our circuit! I had NO idea during the flight, but they exited just in front of us holding hands. They had rode with a couple kids. What a magical moment for those kids!!!!

We made our way into Tomorrowland

1201902199_2VMzg-L.jpg

we wanted a spin with the Space Ranger!

This line was almost a walk-on

1201905956_CyRPc-L.jpg

1201906987_HZkbQ-L.jpg

"Hi Buzz!!!"

I was next to get on and the woman in front of me stepped on the moving belt and sorta half-slid around the barrier they have to get into a ride vehicle - the CM tried to stop her, but wasn't successful--and boom! the ride shut down. It sat there for about 5 minutes,

1201910287_SmC9g-L.jpg

they went through their checks, the CM on the microphone had to repeat their little phrase about staying in the ride vehicle around 48 times (not sure if there was an offender, or if that's just how it goes?). But soon enough we were on and defending the galaxy!

My score

Thank you to the DIS that I know where a few big point targets are! ;)

As we emptied into the gift shop Henry knew just what to do!

1201921568_FVoCz-L.jpg

After all that hard work of successfully defeating Zurg we were in need of something relaxing...off to the Peoplemover!

1201925124_dGjVF-L.jpg

1201926460_6uuA7-L.jpg

All three of us enjoy this ride. It's such a relaxing and entertaining ride gliding above Tomorrowland.

It was getting late, but we still had those FPs from Stephen, where should we use them?

Up next: Castle Girl

We did the Flying Carpets the other year...I managed not to get hit at ALL from the camel. And didn't even realize that it spit at all. Who knew?

Also...first? ;) :rotfl:

Me too! I can only imagine how crazy that is going to be. And the parks will be extra busy. It will be interesting... I imagined buses lined up for each of the parks, and you pick where you want to go and wait in line. But maybe they will all just go to the TTC? I hope they tell us in advance!

I have read about those Mickey Bars for dessert! I didn't realize they were on room service though too! Serrrrrrrrriously. :faint: I have already planned that I am going to order room service every night, to be delivered the next morning - coffee and maybe some fruit or something. Then I'll go eat my second breakfast elsewhere on the ship. I LOVE breakfast, I can't wait! And to have a Mickey Bar delivered to your room!??! We are going to be so spoiled! :woohoo:

:lmao: That's funny! But, as I found out, they do sometimes have the camel off. Depends on the weather I think.

Such cute pictures of Henry! Love the subway shirt, too. I hope Max is even half as into the rides as Henry so clearly is. Henry looks so happy. Great update! And yes...what is it about the Peoplemover that's so dang relaxing. Is it just the fact that you get to sit??? :rotfl2:

Okay folks! I missed Easter on here AND Mother's Day. :sad2: I am really trying to get back here and at least post on my own TR regularly! I am sad to say, I am still horribly behind on all my subscriptions. Just when I started to catch-up...life interrupted and I'm behind again! I'll get there eventually, I know I will! I miss reading all your reports!!!!!

So, anyway, I'm wishing you all a belated Easter and Mother's Day! :goodvibes I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating both days!

On Easter, we had beautiful weather here, but the previous days had been rainy. Our church is held in a elementary school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and we had an Easter egg hunt planned, unfortunately, Central Park was very muddy from the rain, so we ended up holding it in the gym. The kids didn't care one bit - there was candy and fun involved!

That afternoon we just hung out in Central Park and soaked in the sun. On Facebook I shared a few "Spring has Sprung" pictures that I took on Easter, but thought I'd share them here too.

As we passed by this home I spotted the yellow flowers in front (above picture) and stopped to look at them, then I looked up at this beautiful brownstone! Stunning! The woman happened to be in the bottom window and it was open, so I complimented her on her hard work! Love, love, love it!

Later we went to Magnolia for a sweet treat and I thought the sign in the window was cute, "Nothing says "I Care" more than cupcakes"

On Mother's Day we went to church, then to brunch at one of my favorite spots, then again-just hung out in Central Park. It's our warm-weather Sunday routine...and I love it!! Sadly, I didn't take ONE picture of Henry and together! We did make s'mores over the gas stove that night, so this is my one Mother's Day picture:

At least it's a good one, right???

Great update, Brook. I LOVE those spitting camels. I've gotten Mark a couple of times on them. :lmao::lmao::lmao: And isn't it just typical of a little one that what they didn't want 20 minutes ago they want now. Glad the wait wasn't too long.

Who doesn't love the Peoplemover? And glad to see you got the "foot shot."

:rotfl2:

Henry does love the rides! But, he also expressed interested, several times, to go back to the hotel and swim...so it depends on his mood. This night, we were in full-ride mode and having fun!

:rotfl: about the Peoplemover! I bet you are right! You get to sit, and just do NOTHING!

I think next time I might take control of the camel and get Joe! Henry insisted that I get it, not Joe! :rotfl:

And yes, you are right-very typical of the age to change their mood like that...it wasn't the only time!

I did get my foot shot! And my Henry behind bars! It's so fun to look at the progress of those pictures over the years.

Loving the updates!

I was wondering where you got the sandals Henry is wearing in the pics. I'm on the hunt for sandals for my boys.
