Any thoughts or opinions on these two??

Also - is the rumor true? Does Le Cellier require two TS credits for dinner? But only one for lunch?

Thanks in advance!

I just read that Le Cellier would change to 2 table credits in March 2011 for lunch and dinner. I have ADR's for dinner late October and it's 1 TS. If I remember where I read it, I'll let you know.

I heard the same thing (2 TS/March 011)
Marrakesh vs. Chefs
that is sort of like apples and oranges
Both restaurants have fairly standard dishes representing the cuisine of their country...so that depends on you.
Now on to the non-food differences:
IMO Chefs can be brutally crowded,it can be noisy and you are so close to the next table onlookers could assume you are dining together and chefs like no other likes to turn their tables FAST!
Marrakesh has the floor show, the hand washing, tea pouring b'stilla (made with chicken not pigeon) and the chance to eat with your hands
Mind this is all IMO;-)
I prefer Marrakesh, but I will always prefer Moroccan over Classic French
Chefs has some very tasty foods...I especially like the cheeses and escargot
and if you don't need to experience Moroccan cuisine in a sit-down manner Cafe Tangierine is one of our absolute fav. CS meals<---if you aren't huge eaters the plates there are large enough to share
BTW, Cafe Tangierine has an awesome Tangerine slushie....mmmm;-)

We've never tried Moroccan food, but thought it might be a good chance to try it. Sounds like Marrakesh is a more unique experience. Thanks for your review!

And - figures - we're going to March - so I'm hoping to get LeCellier for lunch!

Starting in March 2011 Le Cellier is going to be 2 table service credits for dinner but will remain only 1 table service credit for lunch. We ate at both Le Cellier and Les Chefs de France last year and enjoyed both of them so much that we have dinner reservations for them again this November.

I like the food at both Marrakesh and Chef's de France. But I don't think we will go back to Marrakesh. We ate there last summer and it was packed, there wasn't a foot between the tables on either side of us. We were rushed through our meal and I didn't get what I ordered or all I ordered - eventhough I tried to correct it. Our waiter was serving too many tables to very attentive. The food I got was good and the belly dancing show was fun to watch. The Moroccon people that work there are so beautiful. I just wish I hadn't left the restaurant feeling like I had just run a marathon.

Wow - interesting. Hopefully it won't be too crowded when we're there (early March - before Spring breaks begin).

We decided to try something we've never done before. My husband will be happy to hear there's belly dancing!;)

Don't let me scare you off, you should go. Especially during the time you are going. We went in the height of free dining, when every place is packed. Yes, the DH's/males in the room seemed to enjoy the belly dancing. I just couldn't believe that a stomach could be that flat (says the 53 yo grandmother of 2)!
