I just got back last night from a 2 day mother-daughter trip. Monday we went to Restaurant Marrakesh for lunch around 3pm. There was no wait and only about 6 or 7 tables occupied. We missed the belly dancer but the musicians were there.

I had the Lamb couscous and Moroccan mint tea, my mom had the Sultan's Sampler and just unsweet tea. Mom also got the bastilla pastry for free as dessert and the servers came out and sang happy birthday with the drums and put a fez on her head :rotfl: Gotta love that birthday button!

The lamb was very tender and fell off the bone easily, no knife required. The veggies were thoroughly cooked, but weren't mushy and the sauce went well with the couscous.

Mom kind of brushed off the sugar from the beef brewat roll but said it was quite good and a little like a Moroccan egg roll. She said the chicken bastilla was tasty as well, I wouldn't have like it though because it had nuts and raisins :scared: She also said the beef kabob thing was very tender.

Later that night we hung out at Stormalong Bay for a couple of hours and decided we were ready for a light dinner. I just got a kids turkey sandwich and my mom got a cheeseburger at Hurricane Hanna's. No pics there, it was ok, but I definitely understand now why people complain about the whole wheat buns on property. I ate everything but the bun on the sandwich because it kept crumbling so bad it wouldn't hold it all together. :confused3

After going back to the room and getting changed we headed over to Beaches & Cream. We hit it just before the after Illuminations rush and only had to wait about 10 minutes. We sat at the counter and both ordered No Way Joses.

I couldn't quite finish it but I made sure I got all of the peanut butter!

The next morning we took it slow, had coffee in the room and then headed over to Captain's Grille for breakfast/brunch. I was a little disappointed because they were only serving buffet. I don't eat breakfast all that often so I'm not usually hungry then and was just going to order something light. I ended up just eating fruit, a little scrambled eggs and a turkey sausage. The fruit was good, the eggs were typical, and the sausage was really dry (but what else can I really expect from turkey sausage?). My mom had pretty much the same but with a muffin. One other thing I noticed is there wasn't any sweet n low for my coffee. There was some in the room, but I had to make do with splenda at breakfast. Again no pics here - I don't like taking food pics at buffet style restaurants.

After spending a good few hours at MK we headed over to Narcoosee's for my mom's birthday dinner. We had one of the first seatings so it was pretty quiet for a while. I ordered a glass of the Fairytale Iron Horse champagne and unsweet tea to drink, mom got unsweet tea as well.

We split the crab cake appetizer and it was some of the best crab I have had in a loooooong time. :goodvibes. We also enjoyed the sourdough bread with butter and Hawaiin sea salt. Now we don't like salt - at all. We don't add it to our food separately and we don't usually add it to our cooking, but this stuff was amazing! It was like little bursts of smokey flavor on my tongue. :rotfl: For entree's I got the crab crusted Alaskan Halibut with fingerling potatoes and meyer lemon butter sauce.

The fish and crab together was really flavorful and the crab on the fish was the same mixture as the crab cake app. The sauce was tangy and I appreciated that it was off to the side so that my food wasn't drowning in it.

Mom ordered the scallops with sweet onion risotto, peas & asparagus and sherry-tomato vinaigrette. She said it was some of the best scallops she has had and really enjoyed the risotto especially since it's not usually her type of thing.

For dessert I got the Key Lime Creme Brulee. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had read a review on here that someone had thought it was too sweet. I love key lime and creme brulee and figured I would give it a try. It was quite delish and if I hadn't been at such a classy place I would have licked the ramekin. :worship:

Mom got the almond crusted cheesecake (which was free! since it was her bday). She enjoyed it a lot - cheesecake and almonds separately are some of her favs so together was apparently a winning combo. She also said the almonds had a slight roasted honey flavor.

I didn't take any pics here either as we were having such a good time and it was such a classy joint  Maybe if we go back in the future I will.

So that was our 2 day trip at Disney in food....I will be happy to answer any questions you guys may have.
