Market Day/Scrip - ideas for school fundraisers

Okay, I know I said there probably wasn't anything that would convince me to order from Market Day, but after hearing posters rave about the ChicNSteakes and Broccoli, I decided to try them. I ordered today and will pick up next Thursday.

So, I guess that reading about Market Day on the Dis will increase your orders!

OP, I see you're in Indiana. Our scouts used to do a program just with Kroger/Owens. You pay for paper gift certificates when you order, call your order in with Kroger then pick up the GCs at Kroger's courtesy desk and pass them out at your meetings. Very simple to do and everyone needs groceries so very useful too.

The post above mentions that Kroger does cards now so even easier!!

Our school does Kroger Scrip. We bought a gift card pre-loaded with $5 for $5 (so no markup or anything). Then, every time I shop, I remember to load the card at the service desk or checkout before they ring up my order. I have a regular grocery budget of $200 a month at Kroger, so I do this at the beginning of the month and just use the card all month as payment for my groceries. I can always add to it if I think I'm going to run short that month, or if I have it leftover, I roll over the balance to my next month's budget. The school gets back 1 or 2% of all my purchases. They earned $4500 this way in just 4 months from everyone's regular grocery shopping. Easy-peasy! I think they are going to do Target scrip next, and we are hoping for the health food store, as well.
