out of all the times in been to Disneyland, iv never been on the mark twain

So on my upcoming trip i def. want to

Question is does the MT run only certain times a day? Or is it like any other ride which runs continually?

Just ask a CM before the MT arrives. They'll ask the captain. Often the CM standing at the entrance will be the captain on the next trip.

I've never been on it either! I never even got to go to Mark Twain island (it's changed now to something pirate themed right?) but sometimes they do ask random passengers to 'steer the boat.' My boyfriend and his family were asked to go up and they got to play with the horn and stuff. It sounds pretty cool.

We LOVE riding the Mark Twain. It goes all around the river, to part that you may not even realize existed. You can see some great views of the Park, some wild animals (who are GREAT at posing, you'd almost think they are not real ). And yes, they do pick someone to go up in the Wheelhouse most trips. Sometimes it has already been selected, but if you ask nicely, they will try to get you up there IF it is available.

The MT runs continually from a little while after park opening until about dusk. During busy seasons it will run alternatively with the Columbia Sailing Ship.

That would be SO COOL to steer the MT!!!! My Oldest DD would love it as well.
How many people in your party can go up to steer at one time?
Ill be going with my mom, and 2 DDs (ages 1 & 3) next month. Just wondering if we would all be able to go up?

OP definitely ask about piloting, we did that when the girls were 7 & 11, it was so much fun! They got to sign the guestbook as well.

That's what we did, and that CM was indeed the captain on the next trip! Best thing ever!

You'll be good. I was with my parents and my son (my girls were off doing something "more fun"). They said 4 is the limit, but I've heard of 5 going up.
