Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

Good morning guys!
Spent a couple hours at the pool yesterday....had a headache most of the day....other than that...I don't think I got anything accomplished. The 8 year old boy that we met "A" came over yesterday...and stayed...and stayed...and stayed. He's still here!! I talked to his dad and said it was ok for him to spend the night....but it's 11 am....TIME TO GO HOME!!

DH is on midnights this week....got home at 6:30 this morning. I was up and getting ready to take the dog out. So after the dog did a little bit of his business, DH, the dog and I went for a 2 mile walk!! It felt GREAT!! After we got back to the apartment, DH & I went to the workout area and I did some arm exercises. Felt pretty good....gonna have to get into a routine!!!

Today I'm waiting for the insurance man to call me so I can go get that stuff taken care of. I also have to call the school and finalize some stuff, and I'm also waiting for my boss to call me back...

ok...gonna actually do some laundry now...darn I hate that stuff!!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

I'm so sorry. I didn't realize I'd been gone so long. MAN, time really flies when you're running around like a nutball. This past weekend was a WHIRLWIND and the only positive thing that I got my new car!

Enough about me....

You completely STINK with all this pool talk. TOTALLY not fair! I'll pay you to come up here & deal with my "end of year" crap at work and I'll hang with your kids at the pool. Deal? I'm just kidding. With all of the stuff you've been through the last few months...you deserve LOTS of downtime. ENJOY the heck out of it for all of us poor working slobs.

Happy belated birthday to that darling, sweet daughter of yours. I'd love to tell you that at 8 they magically turn into a darling, sweet daughter....but so far it hasn't worked for my DD8.

Oh, and don't worry about the Bean comments. If only I was so creative.

I have been enjoying the pool most of the time. LOTS of skinny college women here. Kids are at the pool now with "A" and his dad...thank goodness....just wasn't in the mood to go down there today.
Got alot done today...ran some errands and only got turned around once...not lost...just turned around. Also got most of the laundry done....AND...talked to my sister in Huntsville....the kids and I are going to head up there tomorrow to help her out with some stuff....(she's not very organized and I offered my help...) And if I have to go to Memphis, the kids will stay with her for a few days.
I'll be back later this week...don't let me fall to page 2 guys!!

Have fun in huntsville! Kevin went to Space Camp there when he was 9! He loved it. I bet if you live down there they do field trips up there to the space center. Very cool place. I do lean to geekism tho. It compliments the dorkiness.

I wish I had a pool here, its sweltering. The air is solid. I am jealous.

When does school start there? Ours is the 15th. Too early I say. But I am sure the kids are looking forward to it.

Anyway, I'm back...again! Had fun at my sisters! Exhausting, eventful, profitable....not to mention I/we got a buttload of stuff done!! I love my sister dearly...she is a wonderful person. She is creative & talented and so totally disorganized that it's scarey!! I started on Tuesday afternoon cleaning out her office....(had to find the floor, desk, closet & cabinet)....by the time I left at 12:30 today...she had a full-functioning home office, her oldest daughters room was cleaned and organized (minus the closet...that'll be next week) and her youngest daughters room & closet was cleaned & organized. It was pretty neat doing her closet....she thought she needed to keep every article of clothing that was in the closet...whether it fit or not/ or whether she thought she would wear it or not! (she's 9) Anyway, after we talked, she realized that it was easier to get rid of some stuff and keep the stuff she really liked. By the time we were done, the music was loud, the jeans were folded and she knew where everything was!! I had alot of fun doing it too! My sisters office wasn't as much fun, but we got it done too!!
She and I talked, and I'm going to go up there every week (or 2) until I find a job and spend 2-3 days getting her house organized. (Think clean sweep/clean house) I hope I'm done by Christmas!!! My mom is coming down next weekend for a visit and to help her set up the bookkeeping for their business....should be interesting! I'm going to work on her closets & dining room...we'll see how much of a miracle I can pull of then!! (yes, she's paying me!! )

ok...gonna go visit w/ hubby and the dog for a while...kids are chillin'!

Oh....never heard back from my boss in TN about working up there for a few weeks...so I guess that fell through! I did hear from "R"...they are having a surprise 50th for the boss....TOMORROW NIGHT!! She called me at 11:0 this morning to tell me about it. Yeah...don't think I'm gonna make it. Oh well!

Yup, I agree with your sis. You TOTALLY could do BOTH!! I've seen some of your pics. You deserve to be the boss in that. You are a VERY talented photographer. I would pay some serious money for someone to come organize us. Your sister is lucky to have you so close!

TOM hit today....(sorry...tmi)....I'm worn out tonight! Can't figure out why!!
Kim...I'm in on the 30 miles for August! I've got to do something to keep this weight off...I've got 8 pounds to lose....(I weighed at my sisters....148 ) I've worked to damn hard to lose it to get it back this quickly!

My goal for August -
* Walk/Run 30 miles in 29 days (late start)
* Lose 5 pounds by 8/31/07 (143)
* Drink more water...still having a hard time with that one. (no cokes at all...only 1 8oz tea per day)

That's enough for now....I'm also going to keep looking for a job...

I know you gained a couple of pounds but it could have been much worse, you can lose that back in no time! You can do it!

Evenin' folks!
Tax free weekend this weekend on clothes and school stuff. DH and I took the kids shopping yesterday...they both got much needed new shoes and a few outfits. DH got a few shirts, we hit DQ and came home....5 hours later!!!
I did something last night that I've NEVER done....went shopping at night by myself!!! It was really cool to go walking around the outdoor mall here and not be "nervous". Anyway, I bought a pair of khaki's (size 8) at the GAP and a couple of t-shirts....then today I went to this resale "boutique" up the street....OMG IT WAS AWSOME!!! The woman that owns the place was really cool and a big help!! The stuff was from SAKS, Parisians, Macy's, Ann Taylor...etc....high end stuff...but at Wal-mart & Target prices!! I bought 2 skirts, 3 pairs of slacks, 1 pair of jeans and 3 tops for about $120.00!! (everything was size 10 or smaller!! One pair of slacks were 6! And the jeans were Tommy Hilfiger...8!) Basically I got 5 outfits...mix and match! Man...it was fun...and DH LOVED everything I got!! Now...all I have to do is find a job!!

I have a meeting on Monday and Tuesday with a couple of "headhunters". We'll see what happens.

Ok, sit down and plan it out. Plan your walk/run days and plan out a week of healthy meals. You do it and then I'll do it with ya.

With that said....I agree with Linda. You have had SO much going on lately and a lot of us would have blown right back up. You still made GREAT choices most of the time and were aware of what was going on.

Good luck with the job hunt. Can you maybe spread the word with DH's co-workers of the photography deal? Maybe get some shots scheduled or something? I really think you need to pursue that.

I'm SO SO SO glad that you're in a place where you can go out & feel comfortable. I'm sorry you had to live where you didn't have that comfort for so long. It's gotta be a load off of your back now.

And heck yeah I wanna go shopping!!!

Whats with this "tax-free weekend" stuff? We dont get any stinkin tax free weekend. I havent bought a single thing for school yet! Not a pencil!

I'm not a very good shopper. Are the kids excited about school yet? Mine is, and hes 15!

It's 104 degrees here today!!! That's not counting the "heat index"!!! So guess what....ANOTHER day of no walking...unless you count the dog! DH and I agreed today to start walking again tomorrow morning....it's just really hard because of his schedule. He's on afternoons this week, and we don't know what to expect after that! I know I can go over to the gym...I'm just not as motivated as I need to be.
I'll get it in gear...I promise!! I have to!!

So, there was an ad in the paper for a local car dealership looking for an accounting assistant. I was there at 9 this morning!! I think it went well.....he called my old boss Kathy around 4 pm and talked to her for 30+ minutes...she's say's I've got the job...we'll see.

Certain towns in certain states allow a tax free weekend once or twice a year...they did in TN too. It's nice...especially when the tax rate is 9.25%!!! Big savings!
Kids are getting nervous now about school...right at a week away. I keep giving them pep talks...I can't blame them...it's all new!

You're kidding!! NO TAXES on necessities!! wow! Isn't Minneapolis like that? I remember going to the Mall of AMerica and them not charging tax. Pretty cool!

Hi again....sorry, had to go earlier!
Yep...I got the job! The guy called me a little after 10 this morning! I meet with him again on Thursday to hammer out the details....and I'll either start Monday or Tuesday.
I'm pretty excited about it...I'll be making the same $$ as I was in Memphis...so that's cool!
DH also talked to the real estate agent...dropped the price again....MAJORLY!! Hopefully it will stir it up a little bit...hopefully we'll get an offer. We won't be making any money on it...we just need to get it sold.

oh....I'm at 150. I'm not going to whine. I'm not going to (b)itch. I'm going to get off my @ss and do something about it. No sense complaining...it's my own fault...I've been slacking off.
I'll be at the gym at 6 in the morning.
I'm going to write out a workout schedule and follow it!!
No Jenny Craig....just Marie.
