I was looking for a place to eat at USF and was thinking about Margaritaville. I noticed a lot of seafood on the menu and my husband hates seafood and can not stand the smell. Is it more of a seafood type resturant? Does it smell like seafood? T.I.A, Melissa

It has seafood, but it also has hamburgers, and nachos, etc. We like the smell, but that's just because we like Margaritaville  :cool1: :thumbsup2  :Pinkbounc :woohoo:  :bounce: :clown:  :firefight :hourglass

We were there in June after a day at IOA. It had been raining and we were soaked, so we debated as to whether or not to go. We walked up to the porch entrance and were greeted by a very kind hostess who gave us some very absorbant napkins to dry ourselves. There is dining on the porch, so we decided to eat there. We weren't disappointed! The kids all had the kids Cheeseburger in Paradise with Cokes and my DH and I had BBQ pork sandwiches and Margaritas! Everything was excellent!!! The atmosphere was GREAT! They had entertainment on the porch, a man playing the guitar and singing, taking requests. (He was quite good and very entertaining!) It was a very comfortable place for us. The next time, we would like to try dining inside, we've heard really good things about inside too. The whole family enjoyed it and we would recommend it to anyone!
And we didn't smell any seafood, so I wouldn't think your DH would notice anything like that.

Have fun!

Wow it sounds great!

I dont mean to ask for so much but it would be great if anyone had pictures (inside or out) they could post to help me convince my husband and my boys. I checked the Margaritaville web site and could not find any.
Thanks again, Melissa

We were there Saturday, sorry no pictures. Inside they do have this huge Volcano that "erupts" every so often and margarita mix pours down the side of the volcano into a HUGE blender at the bar. The kids thought that was neat.

How cool is that! :rotfl: :rotfl:

the restaurant is two levels and wide open, so all you smell is well... a restaurant. it definately has a nautical theme (videos are projected onto boat sails) but it's definately not a seafood restaurant. foodwise, it's second in citywalk in quality behind emeril's. when we have friends and family visit us on vacation, they all want to go back to margaritaville, even if they're not going to the universal parks.

I'll find some pics.

Hey McBean, After everything you have been telling me about Universal (through PM's and other threads) I think we are going to do two days at US/IOA instead of just one. I really do appreciate all your help. Thanks again, Melissa

Margaritaville is a great family restaurant inside or out (the singer on the deck when we've been there is fun) but i think the best thing about it is enormous portions and reasonable prices! Super kid friendly!!!

It's been a few years since we have been there but we picked up coupons at the coupon/brochure racks at the airport or at our hotel for a 'free souvenir' at the restaurant and we brought home Margaritaville magnets with those coupons. They let each person in our party turn in a coupon. If they still have the coupons, the freebie may be different but it's sure to be fun!
