Mardi Gras week

Not all of Alabama. But my friend ended up there during Mardi Gras week one year (not President’s Day too) and swore never again. High crowds but limited hours.

Yep it was a one and done for us. If I am going to deal with that many people I would rather it be Thanksgiving when parks open early and close late.

I will never go during Mardi Gras week accidentally again. We checked in to a sea of purple LSU sweatshirts at POP and everyday at the park all we saw was purple. I'm not exaggerating. I love the February-March time frame because the weather is pretty nice and if you plan around Presidents week and Mardi Gras the crowds are usually really manageable. For the last 2 or 3 the first thing we check before booking is Mardi Gras then Presidents day... Valentines day doesn't seem to affect it all that much but those other two, ugh...

What's wrong with purple? :rotfl2:

Will they increase park hours for Mardi Gras usually?
If it is that busy, won’t Disney do something to help with crowds?

and does it get busy the whole week or just the Monday-Tuesday?

No, they don't keep the parks open late. MK was open until 11 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday, but the rest of the week closed at 9 I think.

Many people in Louisiana and Alabama have the entire week off for Mardi Gras.

We went a few years ago with Mardi Gras falling perfectly in between President's Day and the start of the spring break rush, and it wasn't too bad. However, I wouldn't go if it were butted up closer to either of those.

That’s how it is this year (last week of February) so I am hoping we get this type of crowds!
(But preparing for the worst!)

We recently switched our plans for 2020 from the last week of February to early May. I have no experience with Mardi Gras crowds (I didn't even realize that this was a holiday until recently - I just thought it was a party in New Orleans), but I had read enough horror stories about crowds to be scared off.

Honestly, this became a source of irritation for me at some of the crowd calendars, because, as stated earlier, TP has that week as being extremely busy (8-10/10) for the whole week, but then UT and a couple others have that week listed as a "slow" week (UT even has Tuesday and Wednesday as "LOW", 3/10 days). Just made me understand what everyone is saying recently - that crowd calendars are worthless anymore.

Heehee...

So, since I’m already OT....where the heck are all the new emojis?? Since the new site, I can’t see ANY to use...? All my text functions (bold, add photo, emojis , etc) are all frayed out. What am I doing wrong?
