Mardi Gras week?

I just read somewhere it starts the 17th of January. We arrive the 18th for 10 nights. How crowded do you think it will be?

Mardi Gras in 2016 is Feb 9. Mardi Gras season in New Orleans goes on for several weeks, starting in January. But Mardi Gras "week" which is when New Orleanians are off of school and travel to Disney in hordes will be the second week of February. So it won't have any impact on your stay in January.

Are you asking about crowds at WDW? Mardi Gras has very little impact on WDW attendance. For every family staying away from NOLA during MG, there is another family going to NOLA to MG.

I have to strongly disagree!! We have gone the same week every year, and the 2nd time we went it happened to be mardi gras week. it took us several days to realize that was why the place was so much more crowded. it finally dawned on us that everyone was wearing mardi gras colors and Louisiana gear. MK was so bad that we gave up trying to ride anything and just left. Now granted, we are people who refuse to go in summer pr spring break because we don't like crowds, so I am sure compared to those times of year, it still wasn't bad, but to us there was a big difference from previous years!
