marcia's journal (comments welcome!)

Marcia~
Hey there! It's good to hear from you! I know you have had a busy week and was wondering how you are doing.

It sounds like fun to have a "kid sister" and a workout buddy! DH was supposed to be my workout buddy, but he hasn't gotten up early enough to join me yet. Maybe someday...... if DH does get up early enough to workout with me, I may :faint: and not finish my workout.:teeth:

You sound like you are doing a great job and feeling good even without counting points. I agree with you: You don't have a plan this week, so you can't cheat on it and so therefore, that makes the last few days cheat free! You planned to not count points and that's what you are doing and thus not cheating. I hope what I said just makes sense.... In my mind it makes sense, but I don't know if I have clearly stated my point. Anyhow, I say go ahead and add them to your clippie! :cool1:

Hope you and your "kid sis" enjoy the rest of your week!::yes:: Take care!

Tracy:teeth: :wave2:

Marcia, your teensitting sounds wonderful so far!! Ashley sounds like a dream - nice that the 2 of you get to be housemates for the week. And now she'll be your workout buddy too! Teach her those healthy living ways early!!

I love your laid-back attitude toward food this week. The key is that you know it is a short vacation from point-counting. You're ready to get right back to business next week.

Enjoy what's left of your week! :sunny:

Hi Marcia,
I'm so glad that all is going well with you this week. It must be fun to have a little sis for awhile and she sounds like a really great kid :D . Enjoy the rest of your week  .

Hi Marcia!

Sounds like you're having a wonderful week!

Isn't working out with kids fun? DD always exercises alongside me. Sure is good motivation.

Hope you hava a good day!

Hi Marcia, Just wanted to wish you a happy Friday! Keep up the good work!

I just wanted to stop in and say hi marcia!:wave2:
I hope your week finished off well. Should be interesting to see what the (evil) scale has to say, huh? Good luck with it!;)
I hope you have a great weekend! The :sunny: is suppoed to be out, so we should all be feeling a little more positive, right?!

 Hello, Marcia! How are you doing? It sounds like you and Ashley have had a great week together. She's lucky to have had you staying with her.

It sounds like your "week off" has been a good one--full of good choices and no extremes. I'm glad you chose to move your cheat free bear along.

Not to be too personal or anything  , but is the skipping a period thing a regular event with you? If not, I think you should just have a quick check from your dr. Of course with your intense exercise and your low % of body fat, it's probably to be expected, but the mom in me needs to know you're taking care of yourself. End of lecture.

 to you, Marcia--

I hope you had a great week Marcia. Let us know what the scale says and if any of us need to kick it around a bit.

i really think stepping on that scale this morning was a bad bad idea. first off, my period kinda showed up. erin, no, it's not a normal thing, the first time this happened was last month. i know this is totally personal, and people may not want to read it but oh well. it's like, i could really get away with not wearing a tampon or pad or anything, but it's still kinda there. if that makes any sense. well anyway, i started feeling a little bloaty yesterday. then i decided that yesterday was my last day of not counting points, so i kinda ate a lot. and a lot of it involved salt. so i really should not be surprised. but um, the scale went UP 6.5 POUNDS from last week  . oh my gosh! my scale read 139 this morning. i'm going to ignore it, pretend it didn't happen, and just weigh again next saturday.

so even though i normally do saturdays as high days on wendie, i really need a lower day today, since yesterday was overboard. yesterday will be my first cheat day of the month, cause i definitely cheated. started off with somebody bringing coffee cakes into work, then somebody brought bagels, not to mention my regular meals, and then i finished off the day with a plate of cheese fries for dinner at 8:30pm. yikes.

i really wish i had just stuck to my "good choices" plan yesterday so i could have gotten a true reading on the scale today. but oh well.

so today is a new day. 21 point day plus aps. i'm on a break from babysitting ashley (her older sister's home) until tomorrow night (and that's the last night). but this morning, i'm babysitting a couple month old baby for a lady at the office. headed there in a bit. then i'll get a run in. out to dinner with the fam, and then i'm supposed to be going out drinking with a couple friends tonight. i was all excited about it last night, but now i just don't feel like spending points on alcohol. sheesh, especially after this morning. darn it, i don't know what i'm going to do.

i'm kinda feeling down today. all of the above, plus last night on instant messenger, a good friend of mine pretty much accused me of having an eating disorder. he was like "guys don't like stick thin girls, or girls with eating disorders." man! i asked him if he was accusing me of having an eating disorder, and he said "well, not eating is a disorder." ugh. i mean, the last time we actually hung out (he lives 3 hours away), i'm pretty sure it was during a time when i was eating less. he tells me i "eat like a bird." it kinda just bummed me out. i told him not to worry, that i'm eating plenty, and that he can talk to my mom if he wants. because i know that i probably wasn't eating enough then, but doing ww has made me more comfortable with eating more, and losing weight in a healthy way. ha, and even having a very bad day like yesterday and being semi okay with it :).

okay, enough of my babbling and feeling bad about it. he doesn't know that i'm really living in a very healthy way, i can't worry about other people's opinions. i have to go eat breakfast now and get ready to go into the office to babysit. i hope to find some time this afternoon to get to journals. bye for now :wave2:

 Hugs Marcia. Sounds like your scale needs a good bashing! I think you should pretend you didn't even weigh yourself like you said. Also, sounds like a nice whoosh will be coming your way after the bloat fairy goes away ::yes:: . If you haven't missed your TOM ever before last month and it is only spotty this month you may want to give your GYN a call. Boy, seems like I've been telling everyone to call their GYN lately ;) .

Hope you enjoy baby-sitting the little one today and your run after. Oh yes, and have fun with your friends later :teeth: .

Marcia,

I;m so sorry that your day has been so horrible. You should have a major whoosh next week. I can gain 6-7 pounds during tom. Try not to dwell on the number. Easy for me to say.

I think your friend is probably well intentioned. He probably thinks that you are eating what you were 3 months ago. He might think that you aren't eating and exercising. He probably is just worried about you. That doesn't make it easier to deal with or hurt less. I'm sorry.

I hope you have fun with your friends tonight. You deserve to blow off some steam

Beth

Oh Marcia, here comes a great big  ! Try not to let the scale get you down. You are probably just retaining water after eating all those salty things and with your period starting. Just jump back on the wagon and hopefully by your weigh in next week you'll woosh it all away again!

Cheryl:hug:

hey guys, i'd just like to thank everyone who kept up with me even while i was away this past week. i think today starts me getting back to my normal schedule. well, yesterday really did, but i just had no time to get to journals.

i know my friend really is good intentioned, and he may have had a point back when i wasn't eating so well, but yeah, it's just hard to hear it now. i know i went through a bit of time back then when i wasn't eating well, but i try not to think about it and to just worry about the here and now.

anyway, like i said, i got back onto my food plan yesterday. i did a low points day, it ended up being a 20 point day plus aps, cause get this...i earned 9 aps!!! i ran 8 miles yesterday! holy man, and did it feel good! now, before you start to get worried about me pushing too hard, i have to tell you that i'm not running any more mileage this week than i have been running, because i skipped my thursday 4 mile run. so if i run 5 today (which i plan on), i'll hit the same mileage i've been doing for the past i don't even knwo how many weeks, and that's about 21 miles per week. and yesterday, iw anted to go even further. i just kept a steady 10 minute pace, and it felt so good, but i knew i needed to stop, because the furthest i've ever run at once before that was 6.25 miles, and i really didn't want to risk injury by going too far. anyway, i'm jsut really excited about running 8 miles and feeling so good, makes me really look forward to the half marathon even more :teeth:

so me and my friends didn't end up going out last night, we just rented a movie instead. and i was very happy about that. one of em had an erg race today (indoor rowing), and the other had too much to drink friday, so they weren't up for it. yay, it ended up being really nice to just relax together :)

anyway, food for yesterday went as follows -

b: lc bagel + morningstar pattie + 2% cheese slice = 4
s: dd french vanilla coffee + 1/4 cup skim + 3 splenda = .5
l: small pb/banana oatmeal = 3
w: 8 mile run + 1 mile walk (9 aps)
s: ensure + 1/2 banana + 1/2 tbsp pb = 8
s: 1 cup carrots = 0
d: friday's garden burger + 1 cup broccoli = 10
s: chicken orzo soup from the diner = 2.5
s: 1 mini mr goodbar = 1

total: 29

perfect for a 20 point day + 9aps.

this week, i'm doing a modified wendie plan. today will be the high point day, but i don't know if i'm going to make it to 35 + 6aps. any leftovers, i'll spread over other days of the week. i've figured out how many points to eat each day, kinda varying, taking into account things i have going on. i'm not going to stress being over/under 1 or 2 points per day, i'll just move stuff around if necessary. at the minimum, i will eat 20 points plus aps each day though.

oh yeah, and the babysitting for the baby at the office yesterday went so well. she slept most of the time, but when she was awake, she was such a happy baby! she's absolutely wonderful, a really great baby. and her mom asked me if i would do this sort of thing on saturday nights, and i told her of course!! i love kids, i love babysitting, and it's such a great way for me to make extra money, cause i surely need it! so i'm really excited about that :teeth:

food so far today, is the exact same as yesterday up to lunch. maybe it's psychological, but i had a great run on taht food yesterday and i want another great run today :). my other food is loosely planned out, but i'm back to staying with ashley tonight (for the last night), so i'm probably going to save some points for whatever snacks we might have. whatever, not gonna stress it.

alright, i've got some laundry to fold before i head out for my run. hope everyone has a great day :sunny:

Hey Marcia -  for you! Sorry I missed you yesterday when you were having a bummer of a day. It sounds like you've put all that C**P behind you. That is GOOD!!::yes:: You are eating very sensibly and very healthy food. If this causes you to lose weight, well then it is weight your body didn't need. As long as you are eating good food, no problems that I can see!!
Okay, about that scale. We'll cut him a little slack this week, given all the surronding issues, but if he doesn't behave next week, well I can't be held accountable for my actions!!!! Just ignore this weeks weigh-in and see what happens for next week.
Boy, since you love all this babysitting, I sure wish you lived closer to me!;) I'd love to find an older person who was so responsible to help out with the babysitting every now and again. Any plans to move this way?
Okay, sounds like you have a very good plan for this week. Take good care of yourself and follow through with your plan. I'm sure the scale will cooperate by the end of the week!:teeth:
Have a great day Marcia!

Hi Marcia,
Just wanted to stop in and say hi real fast. It's amazing how far you can get behind in four days! Have a great week.

Wow Marcia - 8 miles - that is amazing. I'm surprising myself at being able to walk 3 miles.

I'm last night worked out for you. Staying in and watching a movie can be even more fun than going out drinking sometimes. Have a great night on your last day of babysitting Ashley. Oh and don't worry about that scale, especially with your period showing up. That can definitely add some extra pounds that will disappear in a week. You're definitely getting healthier no matter what the scale says.
