My mother suggested that we take a mother & daughter trip (along with my son) back to Disney.....my mom is so wonderful that she is even paying for ALL my son's cost & most of mine. I just have to pay for my plane ticket!!! ;)

Anyway, my mother works for the school system so that leaves some of the better months out of the question. We would be there for about a week.

Here are the dates we have to choose from:
Feb 28th-Mar 7th
June 5th-June 13th

I know the times in March is peak season, so that is one point against going in March.
But how are the crowds in early March vs. crowds in early June?
Also how is the weather?

We just came back from a Disney trip last month (6/14-6/27) & the crowds the first week were pretty OK but started to build towards the end of the trip.
Also when is Gay Week for 2004? I am not concern about being there for Gay Week but I am concern about the crowds Gay Week brings in!

Is there any other "groups" I should be aware of in early March/ early June? Example cheerleader groups, grad groups, etc

Thank you for your advice in advance :)

I have been there during March spring break time, and it is crowded then. However, the heat factor in June would make me choose March hands down.

My favorite time to visit WDW is the week after Thanksgiving. Have you considered going as soon as school is out for Christmas vacation?

Well, my DH & I are going down to Disney ourselves in December for a long weekend get away. (Dec.11th-Dec.15)

I think my mother will not want to deal with the Christmas crowds, since the only time we could go during Christmas vaction is Dec. 20-Dec.28th. My mom was at Disney a few Christmases ago & she said it was SO crowded that she would never go at Christmas again!

I don't know if the heat or crowds is a bigger factor to us!
I really don't like the heat too much, more so it is the humidity I don't like but then again if it is REALLY crowded I don't like that either!!!!

and my experience has been that as early in march as the dates you are looking at, the crowds won't be any worse than june - maybe even a little less. good luck!

We were at Disney this past June 3rd-7th and found the crowds to be light for summer, no bad waits at all. It was Gay week and I honestly did not find it to be a problem at all. Just stay away from MK on Saturday, other than that, it was great. The heat was not that bad, did have rain most every day though.

As a local I have to agree with NancyII on the two sets of dates you proposed. There are times in late fall, early winter that are ideal.

Although it is considered peak season, so the resort prices are a little higher - that particular week in March has been a great one, at least for our family. You won't be there until after President's day week, and MA & NH February breaks, and most spring breaks are either later in March or at Easter time.

We went February 28-March 7 last year, and the crowds were non-existant! We ran into few, if any lines, even for the big rides. On the busier days, the standby lines might have been 1/2 hr - 40 minutes, but Fastpasses were available for only 45 minutes later, and this was at 4 pm! We were able to do everything we wanted in all the parks that trip! Personally, I like to travel when it isn't so hot - being from Northern NH, we tend to wilt at those 90 degree and up days in June!

Thank you everyone.

My mother & I have talked & we have decided to wait until June to go.

A few reasons we picked June over March is my son will be close to 5 years old then & being DH & I are going in Dec this year, that will break up the next trip to WDW a bit.

The second reason we picked June over March is because we were talking about if we wanted to add some more days we could since school will be out. Where in March we will HAVE to leave on the 7th so she can get back to school.

I know we will have to deal with the heat/humidity but we survived last month! We will survive it again ;)

Maybe another year we can get down to WDW in March!

If June 5 is your arrival date then this probably doesn't matter; expect Saturday, June 5, in the MK to be extremely crowded due to Gay Days

The parks and resorts will get more crowded during your stay as more school districts reach summer break.
