My mom, myself, and my 9-year old twins did our first trip with the Dining Plan, and I wanted to give a quick review of the restaurants we visited:
Le Cellier - Wonderful! A great kick off to our trip. Our server was Patrick - request him if you can. He was so much fun with my boys and they had a blast. The prime rib was great. Boys got milkshakes as their beverage and were able to order the steak on the kids menu at no extra charge. The pretzel bread is really good!
1900 Park Faire Dinner - The buffet food was ok - not great and not terrible. We really enjoyed the salad and fruit selections. The stepsisters are very funny. Drizella ask my 9-year old to marry her because he is so messy with his food. It made him turn red and was a great moment of the trip!
It can get a bit loud in there but the characters are a lot of fun.
Hoop Dee Do Review - The fried chicken and ribs were GREAT! We all had seconds! The sides are also great and the corn bread is delicious. The show is fun and entertaining. We had the tier 2 seating on the lower level and had a great view.
Sci-Fi Diner - Delicious milkshakes and we were able to get them as our beverage. Kids were also able to and he brought them the large adult size milkshakes. This probably depends on your server. Enjoyed another good steak. Kids had the hot dogs and enjoyed them a lot. The atmosphere is really fun and I actually got some time to talk to my mom during this meal because the boys were engrossed in the video clips!
Le Chefs de Paris - The was our least favorite meal of the trip. This may have been due to the fact that we had to take a later ADR. Our others were around 5:30 each night so everyone was really tired for this later meal. We found the restaurant to be extremely loud and busy. The server was polite but seemed distracted the whole time. The food was good. Had another steak (i've never eaten this much steak in my life
). Overall, a nice dinner but not our favorite. The crepe for dessert was excellent.
Ohana - This was the highlight our our trip! The bread is delicious, the salad was so good we kept it on the table the whole meal. The chicken wings are delicious. The skewers of steak, pork, turkey, and shrimp are all great. We were so full that we could barely walk! Mom and I enjoyed the banana dessert. My boys are not big banana fans and the server very nicely brought them some vanilla ice cream with mickey sprinkles. The atmosphere was great. We had a table overlooking the beautiful tropical atmosphere of the resort. We could see the castle out the window as well. The entertainment was fun. The boys did a hula lesson and I danced to Blue Hawaii with one of my boys which was very sweet. We had an early ADR at 5:00 and the restaurant was not full yet so I think that contributed to the nice atmosphere.
Some counter service and snacks we enjoyed were:
Columbia Harbor House - love the fish and chips!
ABC Commissary - One of our favorite desserts of the trip was the Strawberry Parpait here. We went back and got it as a snack later in the week.
Port Orleans French Quarter - I was in love with the beignets! They are yummy!
Overall, a wonderful week of fun and dining!
