Our next trip will either be the first week of March (Easter is in April)or the last week of Sept. Which would be better for:

Swimming (is it warm enough in March?)
Crowds
Cost (not sure if March has any usual discounts like Sept=free dining)
Weather

Help me compare: I have been in Sept and I know how hot it is, we do however like MNSSHP and spend lots of time in the pool. With a large family free dining is also a huge plus....
We have been in Jan, hubby liked those temps, too cold for me to swim.

Basically I want to go in Sept, hubby wants to wait until March just before our youngest turns 3. He thinks she will be better behaved at 3 Vs 2.5
ARGH!! help

We usually go in Sept/Oct and this past March we squeezed in an extra trip. I would go in Sept over March any day. The weather is better the crowds were about the same and the activities in Sept are more fun, MNSSHP & F&W!

Also, we stay at the values and in March the values are full of High School Seniors on their class trip. If we ever go back in March I will never stay value again. The kids were behaved for the most part but they are teenagers and they are unsupervised. So they were loud and vulgar and think that if there is someone in the front of the line that they knew this gave them the right to jump the line. (were talking 20+ kids at a time) It got really old by the end of the week.

We usually go in March and this year we were also able to go in Sept. I can say yes the weather is fine for swimming in march, we were there in Dec/Jan and it was fine to swim then! I think it was much hotter in Sept than it is for us in march, but March is never cold, I mean we used a light jacket only 1 night last time.

As for the deals, this past March they did the buy 4 get 3, which was great for us. I havent figured out the exact savings either way, but I know both were great deals (free dining too) but I think Marchs deal may have saved us more money.

The crowds, it really depends on the week, I can say we had spring break a week before the normal spring break and the waits werent too crazy long then. but the crowds were better in Sept.

I think all in all we rather March, mainly cause DH is a teacher and cant use 4-5 personal days each year for Disney! LOL, but is a little better weather and just works for us.

Just got back and let me say the crowds were low....I mean really low. We were at EPCOT at 11am at the World Showcase one morning and looked out and saw 20 people in the area maybe? The wait times at the parks were low too. Everything at Magic Kingdom had a 10 min wait time or less. At Epcot, Soarin only had a 20 min wait time several times thoughout the day, which is rather low. At Animal Kingdom, the wait time for the safari ride was 30 min, which I think is average? The waits at Hollywood Studios were short too with the exception of Toy Story Mania at 70 min. Pretty much went back to back rides at Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.
The restaurants were hit and miss...we had not prebooked any reservations. Some times we could walk in and get a table and other times they were completely full.
The weather was good. A little humid but not too hot.
I have never been in March so I cannot compare the two but those are my thoughts on Sept.
